  1. Hi Jess! So much of your garden is still looking god ~ wow! Miah's mobile shop is awesome! What a great idea Miah! Your ginger harvest looked really good. I've never grown ginger, or cooked with it, but would like to try it. I've heard it's supposed to be really good for you. Would love it if you would want to share some recipes like main, sides, beverages, etc. Thank you so much for sharing!

  2. Yes you absolutely can take the smaller shoots , put them in a pot & keep em inside over winter. Heck I had a huge flower pot with a 8 foot ginger plant in it for a whole year. My mother inlaw asked me to care for it & I became the new owner & until I started smelling it & repotted it, I didn't know that I was gifted so much ginger. Yay Me! There was a huge harvest of ginger. LOL.

  3. I thoroughly enjoyed your ginger story and harvesting. For a harvest that size how do you store it to keep a long time? And where did you by the initial rhizomes? When would I plant them in Atlanta ? Should I start them inside under a light ? Thanks so much!

  4. Jess, plant some of those ginger in high tunnel beds or even in the bed they were in, they are perennials and mine in zone 8b come back every year, I just dig up what I want and let the others multiply. I've been making ginger starter (ginger bug) for about 5-1/2 years to make natural probiotic sodas and ginger ale. See my blog for my recipe and links to my sodas https://handcraftermaggie.wordpress.com/recipes/kombucha-ginger-ale-natural-soda-pop/what-in-the-world-is-ginger-bug/

  5. Great grow. Gingerale is great, gingerbeer is so good. Ginger tea with honey and lemon takes the bit out. Super healthy. Add to honey very healthy, let set for month. It takes a bit of time but you will become hooked. I didnt even like ginger now everyday I love it. Great for your immune system

  6. LOL!…. LOVE IT! I'm right there with ya Miah!…. as one of my favorite adages is; "A place for everything, and everything in it's place"…. so I completely relate to you wanting/having to have everything "just so" in your work area(s). If there's one thing I can't stand, it's chaos and/or clutter…. def. drives me out of my comfort zone…. which is rarely good for us "control freaks"/OCD peeps…. LOL. 😉

  7. My hubby keeps his shop & trailer so organized too!! He even keeps a log book on his phone when he loans out tools. Congratulations on your new book! Can’t wait to order mine

  8. When Jess showed the "pop up shop" did anyone else yell, OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for them! Such a cool tool he will have to help others and bring in business.
