  1. OK I gotta try that! I'm forever forgetting to keep buttermilk on hand, but always do the milk and lemon juice/vinegar trick Mama taught me. I wonder if she knew about this potato water trick. I'm going to make some with the potato water.

  2. I know you don't need my approval, but I wanna say it was your personality that drives me back to your channel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, tips, and experiences. You have helped me so much and it has helped me too realize I don't need approval from anyone but God. Your style makes me feel like I'm hanging with my girlfriend and we are in this together.

  3. My Great Grandmother was born and raised in Georgia. She used to make yeast dinner rolls where she would roll the dough into balls and put them into a pan and let them rise. then baked them. Do you have a recipe for this type of roll?? BTW she always saved the potato water for gravies, levening the yeast and for breads and biscuits.

  4. Thanks for sharing , but I remember seeing that recipe in my Grand Ma on my Dads side , she was Irish and they ate lots of potatoes and yes they made biscuits using the water instead of milk or butter milk. Ninette Bird- the Caribbean Wife.

  5. I love your biscuit cutter. Where can I buy it? I can’t find a good one here ( in Amsterdam, Europe) I hope I can visit the States soon. Thanks for sharing your video, love from Amsterdam

  6. ½ cup Potato Water Strained X2 Chilled

    1 Tbsp White Vinegar

2 cups All Purpose Flour Sifted

    3 tsp Baking Powder

¼ to ½ tsp Baking Soda

    1 tsp Salt Himalayan pink

    2 tsp Sugar

4-6 Tbsp Crisco Shortening (Can use butter or mix of Crisco & butter)

    Directions

Preheat oven at 425 degrees F. Using a hot cast iron griddle.

Take your potato water and put into a jar and add the vinegar and set aside.

Sift your flour into a bowl and then add baking powder, baking soda, salt,

    sugar and blend together.

Mix your dry ingredients with Crisco with your hands to get it nice and crumbly, it looks a little like cornmeal.

Add the vinegar and potato water to the dry ingredients and blend loosely.

Place on a floured surface and knead the dough.

Roll out the dough and then fold it in half and roll it out a little bit more.

Cut your biscuits out but do not twist, just straight down and up.

Place on your hot pan and bake for approximately 15 minutes.

  7. Excellent recipe. I was saving Lingonberry spread for something special. I folded the dough over into 3rds and they rose so high that they tipped over, lol. Thank you for recipe. Oregon_Milk_Maid.
