About Urban Homestead
Sprouting on a 1/10th acre plot in 1985, Jules Dervaes Jr (1947-2016) and his family transformed their 1917 home into sustainable homestead and super productive urban farm.
The Urban Homestead (www.urbanhomestead.org) in Pasadena CA pioneered the modern urban homestead movement, inspiring millions worldwide to start a homegrown revolution.
Growing the Future
The vision of their late father’s continues with the second generation of modern homesteaders who are committed to cultivating a regenerative future — growing food and community as well.
