  1. I loooove going to the Goodwill back home whenever I’m on break because of all the Target stuff! I got linen sheets for $25 last time that are sold for $139 at Target!

  2. BIG score on the jars! Here in California they go for $1.39 (at least where I live) I hear a lot of good things about the round dehydrators (I think they are Nesco's) I have a Excalibur, and ya, I paid a boat load of money for it but I love it.

  3. Awesome finds! I get the same things! I’m on the hunt for little pots and bird houses to make a homemade Bee haven/Hotel to put in the Potager this spring! You should make one too!! I like what you’re putting out!! New subscriber here! I live in Montana where are you at?

  4. Love thrifting, I really enjoy my apple corner, I do want a clamp one , I better get lookingamazing you could even find the jars… Wonderful that your Mother in law helps you so much., that so nice too many bad stories about other in laws ..makes life better when everyone gets along as family…

  5. Nice finds! I would love to get a salad spinner too. When the CSA we are with is in off season, I buy the pre-washed oraginc kale for convience. I'm not a pre-washed/pre-cut type of person, but that is one cheat I allow myself to ensure I can easily incorperate greens into our meals. I love thrifting for pretty much everything with a few hygienic exceptions. So far, my favorite categories are kitchen items and clothes as that is more of what is immediately needed. In my area, I have found estate sales to be far cheaper than the thrift stores and with higher quality items. On major holidays the thrift store I frequent will have 50% off the entire store, so I try to save my trips for those days

  6. I love going thrifting! I've found an old presto pressure canner. (I was able to buy replacement parts), a food mill, a tomato strainer, a hand crank food processor, and a hand crank pasta machine! This was over the last few years, not at one time. You certainly need to have patience!

  7. quick question, I love thrifing and see jars all the time, but I had heard not to use them for canning for safety reasons. Do you worry at all about that or had any problems with the thrift jars?

  8. You can save a lot of money when you buy items from classified ads.

Here are some of the things my husband and I bought when we built our house:

A $1,000 almost new Kohler cast iron tub for $100

A brand new $1600 3 bowl Kohler kitchen sink for $20.

$3500 worth of "Crema De Luna" high quality Italian marble tile for the master bathroom floor and shower for $700. $200 for enough granite tile to do the entryway and bathroom floor. Solid maple flooring for $6.75 a square foot, installed. Slate tiles for our covered porch for $700.

Used maple Shaker style kitchen cabinets that we had professionally painted white that included a fridge and a nice range. Carpet tile. A beautiful vanity light fixture and toilet (that I scrubbed until it looked new). A Kohler sink, faucet and small vanity that the seller of the kitchen cabinets gave us for free. All of these at a fraction of the price for the high end looking basement "Mother-in-Law Apartment." (We installed granite kitchen and bathroom countertops at retail price which really upgraded the appearance of the apartment. They weren't a fancy grade but looked like it.) We couldn't have afforded to finish the apartment without these great deals.

The best of all: a $110K weird shaped "White Elephant" building lot (that's what a neighbor called it) that had been on the market for a few years for $64K. (Once our house was built on it it looked like a normal lot.)

There were more great deals that I can't remember.

When we built the house it was appraised for $420K. 4 years later we sold it for $600K.

  9. Now you're going to laugh I just went to Goodwill yesterday and they're like a dollar a piece. But what's even scarier is about 3 and 1/2 years ago I was looking on marketplace on facebook. And I got 300 canning jars for free with lids. Now this is in preparation of getting my yard ready. Now I'm single and I work 55 to 70 hours a week depending on the year I should say time of year. Right now I'm working about 55 57 hours a week. And my house is still under construction LOL I should say it's on a hiatus right now. With cost of everything I am not doing a thing until prices go down anyhow I plan on using all these canning jars I'm using some now for food and things but I definitely want to preserve my garden. So I got that for free and I'm pretty excited. And I really enjoyed your video the other day with your husband. You guys are awful sweet to each other. PS you should really try some pickled beets. They are amazing.

  10. In case you don’t know, there was a 2nd spindle for the Pampered Chef Apple peeler, corer, slicer with a green handle. The red handle makes thin slices and the green handle makes thick slices. Also, I just discovered PC sells replacement parts for the PCS!!! Love your channel!

  11. I live in L.A. and a local goodwill was selling a single washed out jar of Kirkland brand peaches for $2.99. I was taken aback and asked what was going on and apparently they have started pricing all glass jars around a quart size for that insane price.

  12. I enjoy watching your videos. I get jealous though when you say you can find canning jars for fifty cents. My Goodwill and Salvation Army always have them priced $1.49-1.99. That's more than brand new lol.
