  1. I'm hoping to get one for strawberries soon! I am trying to grow more of our own food to save money, help the planet, and help us eat better. Also my 3 year old is really getting into helping and it's making her more open to trying new foods if she helped grow them!

  2. I think vertical gardening is my solution to not having any more in ground space available left for strawberries with all my vegetables planted, so I can start growing some fresh fruit as well.

  3. Question: I heard you mention adding shrimp or lobster shells to the soil. Is that safe for someone with a seafood allergy? Would the allergen transfer to the plants? Thanks in advance!

  4. Very informative video. Would love to get one of these for my wife to grow herbs off our back deck! Your content is easy to understand and full of useful information.

  5. Just found your channel. Thanks for a great video and clear overview and explanation of how the garden stalk system works. One of these would work great in my setup.

  6. I have a 3 tier original GreenStalk and I have struggled with consistent watering. I put a squash plant, tomato plant, green beans, Anaheim peppers, cucumber and some random flowers. And I have experience blossom end rot on the tomatoes, cucumbers, and Anaheims.

I think adding mulch to the individual pods probably would help with keeping the water in the soil. It seems like if I fill up the trough too quickly that it’ll just all come pouring out the bottom. I did get the support system, and it has helped lift the cucumber off the ground, and support the tomatoes a little bit, but the tomatoes are indeterminate so they’re growing a little too much for the support that I can provide. I probably will not do a squash next year because the plant just got so large that it spilled onto the ground and the stem split. It’s currently being supported via pantyhose tied to the support on the second level.

It’s been a fun learning experience growing on the patio!

  7. Damn I missed this a couple months ago. And after I asked for this review not too long before that! That watering system looks great, and now I know what to look for in a vertical system. Thank you!

  8. I have one of these and I am struggling on how to figure out how to use a liquid fertilizer in it. I'm using 4 tiers…any suggestions? Because if you just mix up a gallon of water with the fertilizer at a time, I'm constantly just adding more. Thanks for any help!
