Today I finally after two months planted out my wine cap mushrooms! I’m thrilled! I sure hope this works out. I also planted out my pole beans and corn!

  1. your garden is looking absolutely beautiful. The first time I saw your raised beds, it was the beginning or, in between planting season. They are so clean and growing strong,. this is the first time I could see the orchard also, I didn't realize you had so many trees. I'm glad you and Josh bought this property, it's perfect. Listen to me go on, I really like your videos, I want to be like you when I grow up. Lol. I wish we were neighbors, I need someone to drink tea with, lol. when we bought our house, I found out my neighbor was from England, the only English woman that doesn't drink tea !!!lol keep up the videos!!!

  2. Another source of free wood chips may be your power company. They do a lot of right of way clearing which they chip up. Most power companies will maintain waiting lists of customers who want chips and they normally will drop them off at your place. They also will usually have waiting lists for used power poles and the large spools but on those you usually have to pick them up. If you need any of these immediately this wouldn’t be a good source but if you are planning for the long haul get signed up on their lists.

  3. I'm late once again, but the whit stuff is indeed the mycelium of the wine cap (mould is also a fungus, so also a mycelium; thus would be impossible to differentiate by eye I presume), but these fungal spore kits are produced with sterile growing medium to give competing fungi no chance.

  4. I'm rewatching this video and I'm not going to scroll through all the comments just answer me this April 9th but this is May 12th I think you made a mistake but I want to know cuz I'm curious is April 9th in some religions or countries mother's day? And I'm not being sarcastic or anything I truly am curious because I like to learn different things. So did you make a mistake or?

  5. Just found this video. I LOVE this. I hope it works for you. I was gifted a golden oyster mushroom kit from North Spore for my birthday recently. It is growing beautifully and I am excited to watch what happens here for Becky..

  6. In 1986 I was going to Clackamas Community College in Oregon City taking an Ornament Horticulture Course. One of the student I went to school with grew mushrooms as a hobby. She had her husband build her a 10 X 12 shed lined with trays she could pull out. I don't
t know what medium she used but she grew button mushrooms. She grew so many she made about $600.00 a month selling them to family and friends. The money paid for her hobby plus a lot of garden supplies. I learned during my course that wood chips need a tremendous amount of nitrogen to break down. So they rob your soil of that nutrient. You should check that out and see if it still is the same. If it is, chicken poop is very, very high in nitrogen. Love your video's and you!

  7. I mulched most of my yard slowly over the past year and I found this past spring I got a ton of weird 'dog vomit slime mold'. It looks so creepy but it's neat to see that and other fungus in the mulch. I'm glad I saw this because I didn't even think of planting mushrooms that I would actually eat!
