I appreciate and am grateful for your grandpa, he fought for freedom. I do enjoy listening and learning about your family heritage Patera. Today our country is in the worst shape patriotically. Everyone should want America to be what always was. But Currently it's headed in the wrong direction. And that's Sad.
I can appreciate this video so much. My dad’s oldest brother begged his parents to sign off for him to enlist in the Army during WWII. After boarding the ship to France, he had to have a tonsillectomy and due to complications, hemorrhaged to death at the age of 17. They could not turn the ship around. They could not ship his body home. My uncle was buried in the Rhone American Cemetery in France. My sister was able to find out these details and copies of the records, including a copy of the letter sent to my grandparents telling of their son’s death. This offered a bit of peace to my father and his living siblings and all of us who never knew Uncle Albert.
Miss Patara – you remind me how privileged we are to be Americans. My Grandfather told me when I was very young to Thank God everyday that I was born in The United States of America…. He escaped Czarist Russia and came here in 1909. Where would I be without him and my father who faught in WWII… you are SO RIGHT…

Oh Patara….. what a wonderful video. Typing through the tears. Multiple grandbabies and more on the way…. my heart breaks for what I know is trying to foist itself upon their future. I am 50 and I hope our generation can muster up even half of the strength and resolve of our ancestors. Honestly I spend most days saying "come now Lord Jesus"
But if he tarries we might have to endure some hard things. Thank you for saying the hard truths that must be told.
YHVH put each of us on this earth to fulfill part of His plan. We are blessed that He wants a relationship with us. We should be seeking out how he wishes us to serve Him.
Your genealogy work is blessing your family, past, present, and future.
My grandmother live almost until her 105 and she live through alot. She canned and had a garden. I used to think she was mean. But a single mother 3 times due her 3 husband's died. 6 kids to raise and feed. You have to be tough. I did learn and realize as am older. I am very thankful to have had her in my life.
For me as family goes it starts with me no going back.
If someone like you found me it would be an honor.

Petera…a great history lesson about you grandparents. One 74 going into war with his son. To protect him and be there for him!!Those people anymore far and few between. Noone wants to know anything just blows my mind!!
