This is great education about planting peas. I usually plant in early spring and when the plants are done I clear out my garden and call it a year. I’m glad to know there is a way I can stay in my garden longer
At the 5 minute 23 seconds mark you spelled weeks as feeks when you talk about the frost date and timing.
James, do you ever grow black-eyed or purple hull peas? They are very popular in the south but I couldn't get them to grow well when I lived in Colorado. They are very prolific down here. 🙂

James – thanks for all the good advice and for the enthusiasm. First year growing so I could use your experience. Planted snap peas late because we didn't get the seeds earlier and going through a heat wave. Are they still likely to flower once the temperatures cool down a bit?

Thanks for this great video! I have been trying to grow peas, all kinds…snap peas, shelling peas, snow peas both disease resistant and not, but it always gets powdery mildew before it’s harvestable. I have tried for 2 straight years(year round), nonstop, in different parts of my garden even in a hanging 4’x2’ wood box that I had made so it’s not touching any of my soil. I used new bagged potting mix but it still got the mildew. As soon as I finish all my seed packets of peas, I’m giving up.

My snap peas survived 110 degrees we had in NW WA a week or so ago.
When tuck lives way past the suggested ages we know why lol. Grow your own food!!
