  1. I love your videos & the way you explain things so easily but with details so that a new gardener like me can understand. I was watching a previous video of yours where you were talking about adding humus to the garden to keep it cooler. What is humus and can I buy it already prepared. If not, what do I mix together to make humus? Thanks so much

  2. Hey, Luke! I’ve noticed in the background of your videos that it doesn’t look like you mulch around some of your trees that are surrounded by grass, and the grass just grows right up to the trunk. Do you have any specific reasons for/against mulching a ring around a tree? (Forgive me if they actually do all have mulch rings and I’m not seeing them correctly.)

  3. OMG – I've been running around 6-8 Thistle feeders for nearly 20 years here and not ONCE did a single thistle plant come up. It doesn't work that way LOL

  4. I am fairly new to gardening, but could you explain something to me: How does the cardboard+mulch affect watering and the possibility to apply fertilizer? Isn't the ground now "sealed off"?

  5. Idk about mulch, but my city usually has free municipal compost (fully heat treated and the likes) since we process organics in a city owned facility. Unfortunately, the plant wasn't running for a couple years due to malfunctions then covid, but hopefully they'll be open again next spring!
