I earned my first dollar over 50 years ago at age of 7 by digging potatoes from potato bed for my aunt. Spent two full days. I remember 6 full wheelbarrows that me and my cousin filled. Not bad for a couple 7 yr olds. She gave us the job and said we’d get a dollar each when done. I don’t thick I’ve ever been richer than that summer. Working in her garden was fun. Even when I got in trouble for eating too much fruit from the strawberry bed
I always thought if I could raise my kids so as adults they stayed out of trouble and and could support themselves then I did ok. I’m always there to help and they are there for me. That is part of being a family. They are all in jobs they enjoy and and doing ok. Some took longer, but we got them there so I guess we did ok
Excellent video!

Preach it sister! You are right.
❤️.. Gosh, I'm so thankful for you/ Yall ❤️
You are so correct. Start them young as babies to play in the dirt. To dig in the dirt that is your teaching moment.
Thank you thank you.
People have a tendancy to flat out not listen to what you're trying to tell them.

You hit the nail on the head. Great video. God Bless

G. Michael Hopf, Those Who Remain
I think the kids these days think that, when times get tough, they can just google how to do stuff, or watch a YouTube tutorial. I have news for them. When the times get that tough, their won’t be electricity, cell phone service, or internet.
You are wise lady !
I always taught my daughter if you can't afford to buy it figure out how to make it yourself or do without. Also don't ever pay someone to do something that you can do yourself. She thanked me yesterday & is teaching her boys the same.
Exactly , I'm In East Tennessee also. The coming generations coming up under us is compromised .and facing the most troubling times in their lives.
Amen baby girl!!!
Great video and points you made…I raised my kids to plant, hoe, harvest, preserve our garden, raise chickens, pigs, goats, calves, milked, processed animals, milled grains, made breads and I know that as adults they can make it because they had to!
