  1. How magical. You hired one of your viewers for work on the property. This is why I see the good in social media. Bringing folks together. R&R farm is EVERYONES neighbor. I love you guys!

  2. It would be aaamazinggg to cultivate a little mushroom patch with all your woodchips! Wine caps grow great within the garden, and an established shitake wood pile would give you mushrooms for a long while(: If you haven't already, check out some info from Paul Stamets and the benefit of growing mushrooms (medicinal and yummy) for yourself and your family. Sending love during this season for ya'll!!!

  3. I am so jealous, you guys are truly living my dream. I’m so happy for you! Thank you for being my classroom while I wait for my time. If you haven’t already (and you probably have, but just in case) look up permaculture food forests before you plant your fruit trees. It’ll give you direction on what to plant where and with what so that they’re more hands off after they’re established. Good luck! I’m excited to see how it all unfolds.

  4. As you panned across the views of the fields and the ponds I just kept thinking about the immense amount of potential at your new farm; the excitement of a fresh new canvas to paint a new farm and garden home! SO EXCITING!!!

  5. Think Encore Azalea for entrance too. Hydrangeas are beautiful but go bare in winter and require trimming. Look for evergreen Encore the height you want at maturity. Then no trimming and vegetation all year. Just a thought!

  6. So excited to see you all transitioning into your new home & land. I can't wait to see how it develops and what fun things you do! Just a quick tip (which you have probably already thought of) don't forget to fence those new yummy fruit trees from the deer! It's always tragic to spend so much time and love planting new trees only to have them be a tasty snack for passing deer!

  7. Re: hydrangeas. North Carolina, here. The hydrangea I planted about 18 years ago has never been watered by anything but whatever rain falls. I plunked it in the ground and let Ma Nature take care of it, and she does a lovely job. 😉

  8. I hope you guys read this even though it's on an older post. Just wanted to share how much you've meant to my family! My parents watch your videos all the time! When I go home, my dog and I will watch 'gardening videos' with Lala and Pop pop all the time! They have learned so much and have an awesome garden on their property now! They work hard together and enjoy their time in the garden. It's helped them change and grow together to have such an awesome project to work on. I bought some magnets for their anniversary this year from you guys! I'm so excited and thankful you decided to share your story and journey with them. Thanks so much and God bless!
