In this video, I show you how to fit braces to an existing Birdies Raised Garden bed to make it stronger and stop bowing out. I also sow three different varieties of beetroot seeds.

  1. G'day Everyone, firstly as always thanks for your ongoing support (I never take it for granted). I tend to get a lot of questions from people new to my content asking where they can get these steel raised garden beds – the answer is in the description of the video above. Also, speaking of questions I have decided to create a special section on my forum https://www.selfsufficientculture.com/ called "Ask Mark" where people can post their questions to me publicly and I will do my best to answer them there rather than via email where no one else sees it… Cheers 🙂

  2. This is my girls account but I’m looking thru like all of your videos you’re a genius in my eyes gardening and growing is a god given privilege and skill I seen that you were thinking about quitting back in ‘16 but 2021 was hell for everyone I’m sure and gardening is becoming a fad popular in societies desperate times but I wanted to say thanks for the real quality content and not only keeping it up but evolving you cover every aspect of gardening I could want except cold winter growing since you are most obviously in a tropic zone

  3. God bless you all. 1Corinthians15:1-4=Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, HOW THAT CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES; AND THAT HE WAS BURIED, AND THAT HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES.
Ephesian 1:13=In whom ye also TRUSTED, after that ye heard the word of truth, the GOSPEL of your SALVATION: in whom also after that ye BELIEVED, ye were SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise.
Ephesian 2:8-9=For by GRACE are ye SAVED through FAITH; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of WORKS, lest any man should boast.
Romans 3:23-26=For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being JUSTIFIED FREELY by his GRACE through the REDEMPTION that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a PROPITIATION through FAITH in his BLOOD, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which BELIEVETH in Jesus. Without blood there is no life and without Jesus BLOOD no eternal life.

  4. How long are your beds please? I recently installed my 2.1m x 0.6m beds and they are bowing. The instructions clearly said only one brace was needed. This didn’t seem enough however I just assumed they had engineered them that way

  5. Hi Mark, just a quick question regarding the skinny raised garden bed. How man bars across are used in total once it’s assembled? I’ve just put one of these beds together and there is only one bar, think I might have a few pieces missing. Sorta my fault as I don’t go over the instructions and it’s now bowing at the top. Cheers mate, Garth.

  6. I have the same beds. It says in the instruction the rod goes 3 from the top. I don't think I have enough rods to do the bottom and middle as well like you have. The larger end caps gives it away.

  7. Hi Mark, I’ve just bought some birdies raised beds after watching your videos. They look really good. I’ve got artificial grass where I was thinking of putting them. What is your opinion about putting them directly in the fake grass vs removing it? Do you think it would make much difference to ability to grow veggies? Thanks for all the great info in your videos : )

  8. I have been watching your videos since July 2021. This girl is going farm. I have learned so much, and I'm in the sub-tropics as well. Honestly, I think I have watched almost 90% of your videos. I let the ads run to say thanks; and some were over ten minutes, dude. Anyway, this is my first comment, and I want to give your channel a BIG USA thumbs up! Also, I like that you got these raised beds over here in America…that's gets a 5% thumbs up! Burying the kangaroo under the banana tree??? Seems wrong to give it a Bouncy thumbs up, but I will…LOL. 😀
