  1. Thanks for the info! These Fall planting tips are very helpful during a tricky part of the growing season. Hadn’t thought of the shade cloth and I like your portable shade cloth structure. Hi Tuck!

  2. My carrot seed germinated in three days using the board method. If I hadn't been checking the boards, I would have killed them all.
I also spread sulfur powder throughout my raised beds and let it sit for a few days before switching out to new plants.

  3. Wow james . I do fanominon timing without even knowing what it was . I just noticed what grows at same time and matures patterns . You know you make things so easy to understand .

  4. Even though I do love watching Tuck….what I love even more is watching how you interact with him….you're a good daddy to ole' Tuck. You had that bowl and water right there for him. He's lucky to have you and you're lucky to have him. You're two 'peas in a pod' (yeah, a little corny, but….dang! I can't stop with the veggie references…that last one was purely coincidental! lol) Thanks so much for this channel. I watch all the time, you're one of the few, if not the only gardening channel that's closest to my growing zone. I wanted to ask, could you do a video about protecting your garden from a strong storm, or a hurricane? I currently grow in grow bags so I can move my plants if I have to, but what do you do? Do you cover them? Tie them down? or just let nature take it's course? Also, have you ever thought of writing a gardening book? I think you'd do great with your "food forest" plan. Humans are going to have to learn how to grow their own food soon, you're a great teacher and I really appreciate everything you do to bring this channel and all it's content to us. Also, my grow pot garden was about a 75% failure this year. I'm sure it was a fertilizer issue, I'm going to try to learn more about composting, even though things didn't go so well for my garden this year, I'm still optimistic for next year, and I might try some fall planting, I think I can grow some lettuces and garlic. Anyway, thanks. 🙂

  5. Hi James,Thank you for your kind words on my last post.. I decided to stop trying to save anything else this season. Been a hard struggle.I have these bakery shelves. there about 8 inches deep. and probably 14 inches long and 8 inches wide.I added my soil with a bit of fertilizer I cut my runners from the strawberries and replanted them. It's amazing the amount of runners these plants have. I also planted my green beans. hoping to have a good crop.before the snow flies. I really Love how you take the time to explain what you are planting. Your video's have changed the way I am doing things, What is that covering called? sorry I think I missed that part. You and Tuck have a wonderful safe Labor Day. God Bless, Jolene

  6. “ I hope you get something out of it…“ I ALWAYS get something out of your videos, James! I have learned a lot from you. I am in the same USDA zone as you, even though I am completely on the other side of the continent. I also really appreciate your enthusiasm! And, Tuck!
