The veggie gardens and cut flower beds are looking great on the farm, but it won’t be in summer abundance for much longer, so we have been preparing for fall, with lots of fall plantings like kale, swiss chard, and sunflowers. At this point in the year, the market garden starts to be less work, because we are just harvesting, and cleaning up for the end of year. But with all the thinking ahead during the summer and planting fall veggies, we will have food producing till Nov.

Ceilena ,You got so much to discover beautiful things in the winter, like planting winter flowers such as mumms, they come into various varieties, also I would encourage selling them in pots rather bouquets. Also cauliflowers they come into various colours and leaves textures.
The soil is beautiful in that empty space. Any soil tips you can share in a future video would be greatly appreciated.
I love that jumpsuit you're wearing. I wonder if it is better to make the wreaths whilst the flowers are fresh so they're more pliable. Perhaps they will become brittle and break when making the wreaths dried? I've just started making lavender wreaths but I make them fresh before I dry them.
The summer heat will still be around for me for about 6 weeks but I cant wait to start to get my fall plants in the ground. The farm looks amazing.
Anise Hyssop self seeds like crazy. So you won't need to plant it on purpose. I started with one
plant that turned into a huge bush. Since then I have to actually remove baby plants every year or
I'd have nothing but Anise Hyssop.
I had to pull the rapini yesterday because with the horrible heat and humidity we've had, it looked
sick. So do the black radishes but it's not the green parts that count and they are beginning to ball up.
Hopefully they do okay eventually. Temperature has gone down now.
Even though I planted out the fennels late, one of them has bolted and I think another one might be
doing the same thing. It's the heat…………41C Humidex. It's hard to time plantings when August is
this hot.
I'm Jonesing your beets! I put Promix organic fertilizer on them. It has boron in it. Here's hoping.
The first crop did surprisingly well considering I've never been able to grow anything but beet greens.
Maybe you should arrange those dried flowers and sell them online – especially close to American Thanksgiving! I will buy one if I can get it for $30

You definitely need to consider an Etsy shop for the dried flowers for additional revenue!! Dried pompous grass and similar looking things is SUPER in demand right now.
Have you ever thought about propagating poinsettas? That could be a sure winter planting resource and from I've seen, is a money maker, churches, family dinners, events put poinsettas out in December. I believe they are started with cuttings. Look it up if you want to be bold. Also pine wreathes sell like hot cakes, even if you produce them for a middle man to sell off
Have you thought about growing flowers for just dried flower seed pods next year. There are some very beautiful ones!

As someone living in the UK, your weather is bananas. We go from about an average of 5 degrees C in Jan to 20 degrees C in July/August and slowly transition from one temp to the other. Perfect weather for a long season of cold weather crops but not really hot enough for proper hot weather stuff. We get plenty of light frosts but rarely go below 0.
Going from 35C to basically freezing in a couple of months sounds rough on everything including humans.
My coral fountain amaranth GREW fine but it grew HORIZONTALLY and flopped over everywhere!! Jealous of your beautiful upright amaranth stalks. Beautiful farm. 🙂
I love the cucumber chilling in your pocket. I inevitably end up stuffing my pockets when I forget to bring a harvest basket with me; today I had Okra pockets.

If making the wreaths turns out to be too time-consuming to be cost effective, selling "make your own wreath" bunches could be a fun thing around Thanksgiving or Halloween.
Youre flower garden inspired me to plant my own in my front beds. Even in Florida the zinnias here are definitely the stunning work horses that dominate. Im so impressed. The pollinators they bring are a joy to watch and the bouquets that grace my table make me feel like lm living in abundance. Thank you for being an inspiration

I'm surprised you do not have goldenrod (solidago) in your perennial garden. So nice to have for fillers in the fall
