I am a lavender fanatic can I put lavender sprigs in vinegar the same way ?
You can make lemon extract very similar to how you make your own vanilla extract. Just take a veggie peeler to peel off the very top layer of the peel before you juice the lemons. Drop the peel into a jar of vodka and let it sit for several months. You can use it anywhere you would use lemon zest – marinades, salad dressings, baked goods, home cleaners, etc. You can also add sugar to make your own limoncello for cocktails! The very outer layer of the peel is where all the lemon oil is.

Hi Becky! Thank you for showing the final product! Have got my jar of peel/vinegar started today.
I use the lemonvinegar instead of softner for the washing machine. It's better for the machine, the environment and you laundry. I will try it now as a cleaner, it's a great idea!
Don’t forget that your compost is also a by product!! And everything that you add to your compost system helps keep your soil alive. Dead dirt makes for dead plants.
You could also crystallize the skin…makes great candy.
I don't know if anyone else already mentioned it but vinigar is not best for real granite! Not sure of a homemade cleaner that's best, only used granite specific comercial cleaner when I used to clean houses for a cleaning comapny.

Are you aware that you can also make lemon / citrus peel candy?
Please remove the labels from bottles you repurpose so it I clear at first glance what’s inside. Especially if it’s something that’s potentially harmful. Working in a lab I also add electricians tape with an exclamation mark over the screw top. I can be removed multiple times and makes it clear it’s not the original content.
You should try growing a lemon tree!!

You could leave those lemons in a mason jar in the fridge with very diluted vinegar and use them to clean your garbage disposal
I use to do this but have read it where the vinegar and citrus will damage the granite counter top on the long run so I stop making it. Same way with swifter wet ones I use to make those and read the vinegar will damage the floor.
