  1. Hi Jess! You're going to make a great milk maid. You're so good with your animals. I'm glad you're excited about getting Hope moved to your place. I think I'm going to try the cattle panel for my cucumbers next year in my raised beds. I only plant one hill in each raised bed, and two tomatoes in each, which I'm thinking of trying the French weave for. Looks like you might have to put all of the boys to work helping Miah with the pavers. LOL! Thank you so much for sharing!

  2. We really enjoy our milk parlor and milk room. A big double milk sink, water heater, and a small chest freezer, with water bath for quick cooling of your tote or can. We use an organic filter bed with a small holding tank for wash water.

  3. I started watching you several years ago when I heard Our Lord calling my heart to homesteading with our 7 children. We followed. Our family made a giant leap into a new "Class Room" full of graces and gifts! We are living in full abundance with our small herd of milking goats, beef cattle, chickens, ducks, honey bees, and mini jenny donkey (who makes a hearts happy)! We are second year gardeners that have learned most of what we already knew from our West Virginia great grandparents. Our youngest is 3 years old….and is my garden/harvest buddy. He would absolutely love his own personal package to our family farm in his name of "cherry tomatoes" of any kind. We are in in Ohio and he is still harvesting the green ones….because it brings everyone happiness to see a little one bring a basket (bigger than him) out to harvest tiny tomatoes that aren't even rip! Lot's of love to your family! You bring us so much joy.

  4. Whoa…..what kinda cow you getting??…..if you can get 5 to 7 gallons of milk from a cow that many months from freshening you gotta show me that 🙂 We milked a herd of cows for many years and only used AI breeding for milk production from a holstein cow and it's rare to get that type of production in their peak months of production….just double check that info so you are not counting your chickens before they hatch 🙂 ….I would not plan on that happening….Blessings on getting a cow….it will be lovely!!!

  5. I've been watching your chanel for a while and I am curious as to why you don't have your kids more involved with the work on the farm? I grew up on a farm and I had no choice but to get my work done every day! It is a great way to teach responsibilty and discipline! Let some of the kids help you milk either in the morning or the evening and it will help you out a bunch. I know you have seen this at Justin Rhodes place and it gives the whole family a buy in on the food providing.

  6. I think a great name for a red-headed gal would be 'Lucille' and that name also has a fine Southern tradition attached to it.
And of course, when she kicks the bucket you can say, "Lucy! You got some explainin' to do!"
