  1. When I started milking my cow instead of my goats, I kept my goats because I feel they really help with maintaining my pastures along with the cows, alpacas, and chickens. Plus, I just plain love them! I don't breed anymore though. Hope your back is healing.

  2. I probably should apologize for what may be the gazillionth time this has been asked!!!..but I don't read through all the comments..so sorry!!! But, just wondering about your dairy cow and calf : do they have a little shelter where they are, to get in from the rain or coming winter weather? I know you've talked a lot about building structures but in the milking videos it looks so vast out there that I'm always wondering about that. That farm is so beautiful. I really love the early morning shots. I'm an early riser in Appalachia 'up a holler', sometimes 4-5 AM and I believe its where all the days gold can be mined! Blessings on you and all your family.

  3. I'm glad you got back to milking. It's not always easy to do that. I couldn't milk like you do, I'd need a stanchion in a bard so I could find the cow. LOL life as a legally blind person. I prefer using the milking machine. YOu did a find job Jess.

  4. Pumpkins are a Great Source for natural worming! Goats love them and They are easy to find this time of year! We Still Also Chemically Worm our Sheep and Goats But it's a as needed situation and The Pumpkins are a Fun enrichment and Added bonus! God bless! Love your videos

  5. I really appreciate that you turn the camera off and get the situation under control for the good of the animals under your care. I have seen a couple large homesteading channels that keep filming when their homes, kids or animals are potentially in danger, all for content. It makes me think less of their content.

  6. Don't cry over spilled milk is something my father always use to teach me as well but I never really understood it completely until later in my life but now I truly understand that don't sweat the small stuff! And yes I am decorating early for Christmas!

  7. My grandmother’s angel for the top of the tree that she had since childhood was given to me. It was accidentally donated to goodwill with baby clothes I was intentionally donating.

  8. Can anyone tell me what to do with raw milk that has just started to sour?! Can I still make cheese etc from it.
Is there any way to make it not sour so fast? I am new to having raw milk!

  9. Question: Not to bring on terrible thoughts but just curious as far as pig health is concerned.

Is there ever a time when you have thought your other pig is pregnant but maybe fetus didn’t survive? Is there a way to tell if that happens? Would a farm veterinarian be needed in this case?

    Or

Like you mentioned she may not be pregnant at all?
