  1. I have two cases, one for inside sowing and the other for direct sowing. Mine are separated by planting week (from last frost date). I also label one of the little boxes as "Empty" to throw empty packets into. It speeds up reorders! I label another as "Next!" to prioritize as I plant. It sits on my counter until it's done, then they go back into the main box.

  2. Becky, thank you for taking the time to make the videos. I always enjoy them. I especially enjoyed your kitchen organizing video. i wanted to tell you what I found to be the best thing for my kitchen. My kitchen is quite small, with not very much storage space. However, I have a storage pantry, an extra bedroom that we have converted, with lots of shelves. I am an older, experienced cook, and have LOTS of stuff. Like you I got sent a lot to charity. Then everything (foodstuffs, spices, etc.) that I did not use on at least a weekly basis, got moved to the pantry. Boy, did that free up a lot of space! For what was left, I put as much as I could on turntables, which are a wonderful organizational tool. Then I did the same for dishes and serving dishes, etc. I ended up with a LOT of space in my kitchen, and the only bad part is that I occasionally have to talk ten steps to the pantry to get something! I also have quite a few things with absolutely no use but that have great nostalgic value, and those went on top shelves, or in a storage box in the attic. I just need to know that I still have them Anyway, by moving out things that were not frequently used, whether food, spices, dishes, etc., I ended up with lots of room, and I am soooo happy. Good Girl! Pat on Back! Keep up the good work and fun!

  3. I too have hundreds of dollars worth of seeds Becky, and they were a mess as of yesterday. I'm half way through my project and I really love to geek out on organizing. I tried many ways and finally came up with a method that I think will address me repeatedly missing ideal seed starting and direct sowing dates. I have a narrow plastic box with a snapping lid and I have created dividers from chipboard and they are each labeled chronologically based on when to plant for this year. Specifically, whether to plant indoors first or directly outdoors and how many weeks before last frost or after last frost and similarly in fall/winter before first frost. So for example, I have Celosia that needs to be planted 6-8 weeks before last frost indoors, so the seed packet is behind the divider that is labeled: I: 6-8 BLF. I have a poppy that needs to be sowed directly outside 4-6 weeks before last frost, so it's behind the divider that reads: D: 4-6 BLF, and so on. There are seven labels in the BLF box and I'm still organizing the ALF box with the tender annuals. Because I have A LOT of different seeds I am starting I have a spreadsheet to go along with all my flowers, veggies, and fruits so I can sort accordingly, i.e. by transplanting date and not lose track of when to plant out or maybe when to fertilize or turn the lights off of my starts. 🙂

  4. I had about 50 old Beta Movie containers that I saved because I just knew they could be used for something. They looked almost exactly like these. After holding onto them for about a year, I got rid of them. NOW I know how I could've used them. Ugh. This is an excellent idea! TFS

  5. I love the idea of these, but I live on 50 acres up here in Cowlitz County, I'm going to be gardening on a huge scale, and those just would not be feasible. I'd need 10 of those. I'd love to hear more about how you care for your chickens, for sure. They will be the first farm animals that we get.

  6. Becky, thanks for motivating me. I started organizing today after a video. I got my corner cabinets organized today. I still have a ways to go but I have to say you help me get started. For me that was the problem. Getting up and getting it done.

  7. I've done this last cpl yrs and love it… you will be so happy with it!! I wrote on mine with a sharpie. But love the sticker idea!! I forget I have one…. lol.

  8. I got 2 photo organizers for my seeds too!! Way i organized them was 1 bin was for edibles-fruits,vegies,herbs. The other one was just for flowers cause i got a bunch of them 🙂

  9. Becky…for the 3 ring binder you can use baseball card sleeves (4 slots per page). I have 3… 3 ring binders . Organized A-Z (flowers and herbs are in a section to themselves) and can store more than one packet. Just a suggestion for over flow since you found your system. Or for anyone else.

  10. Off of Amazon I got tic tac containers with cases.. I numbered them, and in a binder I typed the front n back of the package on paper, wrote notes, anything tips I learned on that type of seed. I did 1 for flowers, 1 for summer seeds, 1 for fall/winter seeds. Let's you see how many seeds you have left in tbe containers.

  11. Me too. I do that still with the a, b, c etc. You are not alone girl. Thank you again for your amazing videos. We just returned from our house in Florida to our house in southern Germany. I'm English living here. We worked in USA in Fort Worth Texas and love everything about USA.
