So, since I don't have one of them newfangled mixers with a bread hook, I……..??
Do you store your yeast in the refrigerator or freezer for long term storage??
Love this! I use essentially the same measurements here in East Idaho (since elevation and humidity can cause dough differences – just referencing) for my everyday dough recipe, but have never baked a loaf on my cast iron skillet; I always use my enameled cast iron dutch oven. Thinking I am giving the skillet a heat up tonight, because now I want to bake (mostly eat, really) some fresh bread. I use the same recipe for my favorite pizza dough too but just swap the oil to extra virgin olive oil and use my pizza stone at 550 or how ever high your oven wants to go. SO GOOD!
Patrica, I substituted sorghum and melted butter,I don't have a mixer so went straight to kneading (using oil was so much better than using flour to kneed) let rise, and baked in an iron skillet, wife loved it.Thank you
THAT LOOKS DELICIOUS!!
Thank you, God bless you and your loved ones!
Oh my! Made me hungry! I am gonna fix me some of that! Hubby will love it and I am telling him he has Patara to thank! 🙂
I’m going to try this recipe on Saturday. I’m in my 60’s and never saw someone kneading dough with oil. Is that to create a crispy crust?
Thank You. That bread looks yummy! I am going to make some.
Almost as easy as the 2 ingredient biscuits…I'd be hard pressed to decide which one I'd prefer…double-yum! 😀
Aw, great bread making tutorial! Thanks very much!
Oh great Patera, please keep teaching us all you know oh wise one!!!!! I love learning..
I have missed your videos on cooking, baking, and animals! Thanks!
Was this bread recipe used in making cinnamon rolls?
What is the music you played here? It’s a beautiful assortment of instruments, and songs!! Your bread looks so good, could smell it cooking!! Lol
Oh how YUMMY!!!! Love ya Lady! <3
Rice pudding…
Thanks for sharing
Beautiful! Blessings julie
Hi Patara and James a day late lol. Great recipe I will try with the oil for kneading and sharing recipe. Thanks for another great recipe.
I've never made homemade biscuits or bread before I started watching your channel (I'm 41 years old btw). Thank you so much for teaching me things I wasn't taught as a kid. I'm definitely teaching my daughters.
Love the ending "feed the beast". LOL!
I tried the Beast Bread on my mom's flat iron skillet and it turned out a beautiful golden brown!!! Now I'm just waiting for it to cool!!!!!!!
I use this but with a third cup sugar. I make hamburger buns and blv they taste like donuts without the topping. Thus household addicted to em. Have cut back to making 1 dough loaf a week. I've been wanting to use coconut oil but was afraid to try it. So glad you shared this. Now I know. That bread looks SO YUMMY.
