  1. Save that pallet. You'll need it if you have to send the machine back for any reason. I had to but they were very good about replacing it and I love it. Looking forward to your FD vids.

  2. Once you get used to using this, can you do a video to show how long it would take you to break even if you bought this? I personally see no way (with my current garden space) to justify one of these with in 10 years. Also, can you try making some jerky with it?

  3. My goal is to definitely get one of these!!! I am going to start selling produce this summer and hopefully will help save for one of these beauties!!! I cannot wait to see what you make in here!

  4. I'm interested in seeing the finished product. So, they can just sit out at room temperature after being freeze dried? I'll have to try it with blueberries sometime. I love blueberries but when we freeze them, they have a bland taste after they are thawed.

  5. Thank you for this video! I am so interested in this. I have just recently heard everyone going nuts over the freeze dryers and am so curious how it works. We were looking at getting a chest freezer and a back up generator but this might be the way to go! Can’t wait for more videos!!

  6. Common to have a vacuum leak and can be extremely hard to find. Freeze dried foods are great but when the machine acts up it can be very frustrating after spending so much money on it and technical support not that good. We will love it too if we get it working correctly, and not a year old yet. Just check out all the YouTube videos on what to do about vacuum leaks and you can see it has been a big problem with people figuring it out themselves without much help from company.

  7. Hi I am a big fan of yours. We are moving to Chicago suburbs (5a) this summer from the southeast. One thing I have always been proud of is the banana plant that I would grow year after year. But want to get your advise on what to expect in terms of growing banana (basjoo) in that zone. Any recommendations? Many thanks in advance.

  8. Luke, please don't let the haters dim your light. You are one of the few that I trust not to be bought through sponsorship. If you believe the product is worthy of your time then you deserve every free/discount item you accept. On a lighter note I will be purchasing a harvest right this year and am so happy you have decided to accept this sponcer. I can't wait to soak up the knowledge you share!! Thank you

  9. New Sub here from Becky's Acre Homestead! Can't believe you got your freeze dryer for free!! I'm so jealous! I have a little less than half of the payment left. It's awesome they can do layaway. Just have to wait to get your freeze dryer til you get it paid off! I'm super excited for it and super happy for you to get one! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

  10. My husband hates squash. Last year I had a bumper crop of spaghetti squash! I can only eat so much. So, I baked it and shredded it, and then put it in my HR freeze drier. All winter I've been adding the FD powdered spaghetti squash to different meals. He doesn't even notice! The other thing is that creating powders from the food you grow can make great baby food. It also makes a great addition to a smoothie. Love my HR,

  11. This is an onion seedling question – how soon do you start giving your onion (Spanish) seedlings fertilizer, and in what amounts? Mine seemed to germinate well, and got to about a skinny 2 inches then started to lay over and look like they want to give up. I have kept the growing mix moist (water only) and it is in the 3rd week now.

  12. on the Harvest Right website, if I say who referred me, I need email of referrer. Can I put you, your company email, on the form? ITs a $100 discount for me if I do this.

  13. Looking forward to your angle on the upcoming videos. I own a Harvest Right Freeze Dryer. I have processed about 200 loads. I am glad I own it. However, I need to point out a minor correction in your video. The freeze dryer does use heat. Not high heat but for the process to work, there needs to be a huge temperature differential between the items being FD and the temperature of the internal chamber. While the tray temperature can be adjusted, the typical run is about 125 degrees of heated trays holding the food compared to about -40 degrees in the chamber and everything is in a vacuum and the water just boils away from the food in the trays. So, some heat is used.

  14. I have one but i had to send it back for repairs they were not sure they think its a compressor problem or a freon leak should have it back in the next few weeks. The customer service was great and am very satisfied but i am missing using my freeze dryer
