Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

Mark, I don't know how you do it all. Thank you for sharing this entertaining video.
Thanks Mark
We need smellavision!!
love yr dad joke XD
I'm going to guess your blueberry bushes did alright under the overgrowth because where they're native & wild the bushes grow on the forest floor. They do well in strong light, obviously, but they tolerate quite a bit of shade so long as they keep alright air flow around the plant.
you look strong
And now for another week of rain in QLD
Subscribing! From Philippines and Stockton
Love all your videos, especially your humor! Thank you!
Maybe u need some gardening grooves
Thanks for another great video Mark. When do you trim back your asparagus for the winter here in QLD?
Once again a fun video and I do appreciate all the time you put into bringing it to us. Lots of pumpkins for sure. I didn't break out in a sweat watching you. All that growth is amazing. Finally have my asparagus bed here in my Western Paddock. Cheers for all you enthusiasm you bring to your videos..
I love your videos, glad you're still doing them.
sorry to hear about your elephantitttiis hehehehe love the pumpkins
I hope you do not mind but I made a comment on a 5 year old video that I know you will probably never see but I wanted you to see it. Here is the text from the comment on the video regarding 22 tips on coping with PTSD.
"Seeing you without your shirt on did made me sick… a gardener with a body of Apollo, you rat ba…bloke! Sick with jealousy here. Motivational too. Are you Christopher Hemsworth's father by chance? Brother?
On a serious note, there is at least one person in the USA that will pray for you and think of you as a person who makes this world better. Your spiritual and physical wounds are stripes you have taken to rid the world from or at least lessen the affects, of bad and evil people that would try and destroy that which is good. As Jesus said to Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew that He would make them fisher's of men, you are a gardener tending to the souls of others, whether you know it or not."
I will do this 9n purpose so you can't tell weeds from food. It will prevent thieves stealing yiur food. And that is in your future so get used to the mess!
28 pumpkins ? Pre watch guess.
Hi mark just wondering when your wife is going to stop working and going to help on the farm !! :} If that is her thing !!
That sweet potato is giving you the thumbs up!!!
And it's just started raining again here in SE Qld. Our place is still very damp after the floods. Need to go and park a car at the front gate just in case the water comes up overnight.
Cannot wait until we can establish our own food forest! Hello from our offgrid homestead in Alaska☺️
I enjoyed watching this treasure hunt.
Wowzers! It makes me wonder how long it took to beat the weed! Looks good again.
My cucumbers are absolutely taking over and growing like mad, just like your pumpkins!
