VIDEO: Growing OAK TREE From ACORN Time Lapse – 196 Days

Some acorns might require cold stratification before they will sprout. The main stem got stuck that’s why it sprouted two new ones instead. And it got a bit stressed by the move from the water to the pot, but it started slowly recovering after a while.

  1. it would’ve grown even more if planted in a larger container from the beginning. like one of those large decorative vases that are clear with a small opening

  2. Every US city has abandoned strip malls and acres of concrete. Maybe we should demolish all of that and plant trees. Managed forests in our cities to soak up carbon. Trees are good for the planet and the human spirit.

  3. We have a ton of them growing around our house outside from squirrels burying then. It's really interesting to see the roots sprout in that jar, and that little first shoot grow.

  4. This one is my favorite, I love oak trees. You can see straight from the start that this is not a tomato sprout or a red pepper plant, it's a motherf*cker strong tree! Did you have to break the glass jar to get it all the roots out?
