Everyone Loves A Bonus! Two for the price of one…..buy one, get one free….nothing like getting a great deal and us gardeners are the best at sniffing them out! But in our world, even better than saving money, is double harvesting our favorite crops!
And I don’t mean multi-harvesting like when you cut fresh herbs or lettuce or spinach over and over. I’m talking about truly getting a secondary harvest. Two main crops for one planting. Talk about taking self sufficiency to a whole new level!

I just learned something, thank you
Funnily enough we just cut our garlic scapes today! We might have to pull our garlic out earlier as they seem to be dying back already? We planted them for the first time in Nov. They are covered in aphids and although i am hosing them down they don't seem to be happy interplanted with the tomatoes. I guess you need to cook the scapes but they we tried them and they are quite strong!
I've been watching you forever. You are the reason my family eats so well. Great job. I look forward to all new videos.
Outstanding info Jeff. Thanks so much for doing what you do. If you’re into blackberries, and you haven’t already, try one of the primacane varieties.
I hear crooked politicians make great compost or fertilizer….. this would be the only time their existence benefited anything or anyone other than themselves and isreal.
Are you harvesting your garlic now?
Why did a sandwich is just a sandwich without the tangy zip of miracle whip cross my mind while watching this? Lol great video Jeff!
Jeff, summer’s here, your advice is hot, so give us some more free info. You da man!
great list Jeff! It's funny, I'm one of those people that finds cilantro to taste soapy, and I'm not a big fan. But I LOVE coriander.
I planted strawberries this year. I'll get dozens of berries, all white with a few starting to rippen, then for some reason, they disappear. Rabbits? I don't know.
Garlic scapes should always be picked before they make their second loop. If you don't much of the energy already went into the flower/scape.
Great video Jeff
Wish there was a love button to push!
Hit the nail on the head with this in Jeff! Love listening to you and live the way you present things. Top man!!!
Cilantro roots are are its third crop ,,
My favorite multipurpose veggies are beets (leaf fritters with cheese), carrots (chermoula with leaves or pesto with Brazil nuts), radishes (stir fried seed pods) and broccoli (leaves for stir fries and stems for cream or bisque).
The Garlic is hanging! 🙂
Huzzah..What to plant in the raised beds for the next few months where the garlic used to be?
Any suggestions? Does it even matter?
Cheers
