In at least one region of Italy, the tomatoes that are bunched up like that are smoked to ensure they don't spoil, as opposed to canning. I've always wanted to try something like that, but I don't have a good smoking rig to pull it off. I have some Marzano seeds on order, we'll see how those perform.
Need to review your videos on leeks and onions. I seem to struggle with bulbs, tubers, and roots, and I'd love to up my game because those can keep very well.
Tofu = curdled soy milk. If memory serves, the pros in Japan start from dry beans that are pressure cooked and pureed. I'm sure there are fairly simple recipes online. What I'd love to do is make my own miso or soy sauce, because those can keep almost forever in the fridge. Tofu has to be eaten ASAP unless they're sealed in the shelf stable cubic cartons.
Looks like I'll be planting leeks! I just planted my tower with lettuces. Going to plant carrots so they're ready for early spring (10a) . Need to start vernalizing my garlic from this year's harvest (though it looks like I missed a couple). My southern exposure does well with potatoes

it's my 1st fall grow in FL 8b/9a. I have tomatoes and peppers inside under lights. they sprouted after only 3 days. I will keep them indoors as long as i have space for them. I have spicey peppers and herbs in the garden outside, still from this spring/summer. and I will be planting onions, zucchini, peas, garlic, and more in the next few days, to go under lights inside to start with. learning to garden in FL has been rough til finding this guy's videos. very thankful for the help.

Dang, I'm restarting my herb garden now, and this video came up…. Wow…. I do have a calendula seedling(yes just one on a hanging basket lol, but it's happy because it's protected from the very harsh Sun, and is leafing out quickly) a basil(I'm guessing it's a lemon basil just looking at the leaves) some sage(with 2 sweet alyssums, so 3 plants 1 pot: the most infamous plant movie ever lol)I'm growing from seed and a spring onion that we bought from the supermarket and sowed it(it now looks like the grass growing our lot), because the herbs didn't do so well. I live near the Equator, but a 100°F temp is surprisingly pretty rare, and I live 15m above sea level….

My seed trays are sitting on the dining room table ready for planting tomorrow, and I ordered a big shade cloth just in case it's hotter than usual over the next two months. So ready for all those brassicas! And I'll take your advice and do alliums too. Thanks, guys!

Where in the heck do I find those cool boxes you're storing your seeds in? I have a refrigerator FULL of seeds and am having trouble organizing even with ziplock bags and sorting by type of crop. Those boxes look awesome!
The trays are sold out already!! Man my seed starting tray sucks and is warped after like 3 seconds in the sun. Hope they come back soon already
Alex from Alex French Guy Cooking, from Youtube, went to a town where those hanging tomatoes are grown. You can see the way the hang them and stored and some back round info.
Those Bradford watermelons seeds are good, but there's a yellow type, name escapes me, but it's sweeter.
I had like 2,000 seeds from so many packs, lol. I guess I have about 20 packs left now. Our first potatoes are about to be dug up, then our late harvest will be in late October, early November. They're doing much better than tomatoes which everyone with tomato plants outside have been struggling, and we have to explain to folks how that's even when we do water them, twice on these extra hot days. I'm getting ¼ of what I would normally get for tomatoes this summer and harvests have been late due to a frost in late April.
I haven't heard how the pumpkin patches are doing yet, but one field a landowner planted corn on, struck luck for the fields location this year. It's looking nice and green. They rarely grow corn, it's been a grazing field for years.
