Re getting things from the thrift shop (or op shop, short for opportunity shop in NZ) and then returning them after a period of time. I always try and frame it in my mind as renting something from a charity. So you need bottles to try out a new hobby and you might like it and keep it forever (great), or you give it a go and then return them. Instead of saying 'oh I wasted money buying these things I hardly need anymore', I frame it in my mind as 'This was good, I got to rent these bottles for $15 to see if I liked making kombucha and now the charity gets an opportunity to sell them again to earn more money'. I find myself needing that mindset with clothes, I needed to do some short stints at jobs which had dress codes, so it was good to say 'I'm renting these black dresses for 6 months from this great organisation to allow me to work' rather than a negative 'I have to waste money on these clothes that I will never wear again'.
Hello Becky, I do agree with alot of the watchers here. You can use your multiples in your canning kitchen. We did move to a larger home and have a large butlers pantry where I do my baking and canning and am so thankful I kept my extra kitchen items to use in there so I don’t have to gather things to bring into the butlers pantry. Good luck to you!
you need drawers for your pans, life changing
Excellent video honey.
That long handled ladle would help in putting soups into jars for canning! You should keep it for that. :}
I have decluttered my juicer 4 times because we don’t use it very often and I always end up buying another one…
Do you have a link for your flour and sugar containers?
Love the video Becky! Maybe you should start thinking of making your own merch and selling it, I’m sure there’s a lot of us who would love to see what you’d make!!
Good time to box up a box for your “preservation kitchen” and store them away for now. Big fork for the grill…. Lodge griddle for the grill too… my daughter would tell me to hush and that less is better.
May I make a suggestion? Instead of donating to good will where they are getting very expensive, and administrative gets lots of the money, maybe share your extras with like habitat for humanity, that sells much cheaper and more goes back to the community instead of individuals pockets. There is also other community groups that also give more back to community. Please just check it out. But of course it's your choice.
Your cupboard is breeding cake pans. Good thing you got them out before they made more. Lol!!!
Lol! Listening to you talk about the “Silent to do list”!!! Dawn at the Minimal Mom is one of my favourites for decluttering advice!
I am a maximalist so this one was hard to watch LOL
You know what's funny I just clean my kitchen out 3 days ago LOL. Great minds think alike.
That cupboard with the cake pans is clearly a breeding place for cake pans.
I just moved myself and I did exactly what you did I threw away stuff I did not make it it was crazy he just don’t know how much I took it to our local Goodwill you are an awesome inspiration and I just love watching you and once again congratulations on the baby
Watching this video makes me want to go clean out my kitchen cabinets. Thanks for the motivation and good luck with your move. Can’t wait to see the new house all painted!
Thankyou for another great video i really enjoyed it
I too am packing up my house ,so was packing my kitchen along with you and was inspired to donate extras ..thanks
.
You have definitely motivated me to declutter. I am headed into the kitchen now. Thanks so much for doing this video!! Good luck with your move and new beginnings♥️
I clean out one cabinet, one drawer, or three feet of closet space every week. By the end of the year, I have been through the house twice. I hate having the over-whelming feeling of trying to do it all at once.
Every missing container lid has come back as a cake pan
Good job Becky…just be careful coz you're pregnant.
The ground cherries look like cape gooseberries. I have lots of cape gooseberries in my garden and they are a super food. Full of flavor and nutrition
