Hi Becky this is Sue,, you an use a pyrex mesuring cut also to melt our wax. so you have 2 or 3 melting at the same time. PS, l think your having a girl,, your complexion is good. just saying

Also a tip that my mom used for making candles put the hot wax in a glass measuring cup and then add the fragrance and color if you do color

You have inspired me to give candle making a go .. the wax etc is a little more expensive here in New Zealand, but I think it’s something I would enjoy doing and giving to family and friends

Oh Becky! I felt your pain when the bag of wax pellets fell over!
So when it comes to candle making temperature matters. When the wax has melted you add your fragrance into the metal pitcher, stir for a minute or two. Then you have to let the wax cool to about 165 f before pouring it into the container. Once you've poured the wax you can no longer agitate it until it's cooled. This will help to prevent air bubbles and divots in your wax.

I would have melted the wax in the jars in the microwave then added oils and stir … That's how I do coconut oil when I'm adding essential oils for skincare. Not sure if you could have dropped that type of wick in afterwards though. But could have used large Pyrex jug in microwave?

Why don't you rinse the dropped wax in cold water?
