VIDEO: Harvesting Before the Storm (Rosemary Infused Honey) | VLOG

*******************

Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.

There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

  1. You look especially beautiful in your thumbnail photo! It is always a pleasure to see your kind face everyday. Love you, Jess!! ❤❤❤

  2. I like making lemon honey for tea. And if I'm feeling poorly with a sore throat, I'll add peppermint to the lemon honey. Sounds weird, but it is so good on the throat!

  3. Loved the sound of the storm coming in. Honey. Six Easy combinations that I can gift at Christmas. For pint jars:
Zest of 1 Lemon or Orange and honey.
    1 Vanilla Bean and honey.
    1 Cinnamon stick and honey.
1/4 pint dried Chamomile flowers and 1/4 pint Mint leaves.
1/2 pint jar dried Sage and honey. Perfect addition to poultry, stuffing.
1/2 pint jar dried Desert Nevada tea (Ephedra nevadensis) . strictlymedicinal carries the seeds.

  4. Hey Jess! We just found a local farm stand that sells organic garlic and raw honey so we ventured in to honey fermented garlic. It’s on day six of fermenting and I can’t wait to try it! I just peeled enough of the garlic to fill a pint jar and topped it off with the raw honey. Put the lid on loose and tuck it in the pantry for 7-10 days and the honey will become more runny and the jar will bubble. (I put ours on a plate to contain any bubble over) It smells sooo good!

  5. The pumpkin spice peppers, do they taste different or is it just a difference of color. I saw both those and lemon drop variety but I'm am a complete baby when it comes to spice.

  6. I've loved thunderstorms as long as I can remember. I used to hold my toddler son in my arms on the front porch where we watched it coming in and then we would dance in the rain!!! (w/o the lightening of course!)

  7. I love storms. Specially when its raining and Lightning. I just want to stand on a top of a Hill and enjoy it haha, of cours i dont but would be awesome haha. Do you plantning on having your own little worm farm? Or a worm compost area?
