VIDEO: A raw vlog in the milk room (I broke my camera.) | VLOG

Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.

There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

  1. What with everything going on in Taiwan… You may want to get any replaceable tech items now before they become outrageous or unavailable…since it is necessary equipment..also anything made in China cause we may have sanctions soon. God Bless Y'all

  2. Things are moving towards the positive for y'all. Fresh milk is a dream for me, perhaps someday I'll have my moo cows.
Thank you for sharing with us. God bless each of you!

  3. I like cattle. I am not experienced with cows/bulls but I have been around Longhorn Cattle a little and that was a small herd. One of my Great Aunts had a dairy cow for a few years when I was a young girl and I do remember fresh from the cow milk. Glad you did not fully bust up your camera. Glad you will be graveling the muddy front of the area adjacent to the milking station. Cows are really wonderful animals. So glad you have both dairy and all-purpose cattle.

  4. Hello Jess and Miah Sowards and family hope you are doing well. I just got home from the hospital as I was really sick from Covoid 19 this time around. I'm feeling much better now than six days ago when I tested positive for COVID-19 for the fourth time. Love the new barn. Have a good evening God Bless you and Miah and your family from Wendy Bertie a viewer in Toronto Ontario Canada

  5. How fun getting to drink maple milk. The boys are such a delight. Ya know, getting to see the less polished Jess is probably my favorite thing in this video. We all know you're regular people, but seeing it on camera today was so close to standing in the milk room with you. Being out in Oregon I'm still dreaming of visiting.

  6. I love ❤️ the real Jess. You are so beautiful inside and out. I bless you sweet lady for all the memories you make for you family

  7. Oh yes, life happens to us all. Working in a hospital for years I can honestly say that I had to buy new work shoes at least twice a year and they were washable. I also needed new scrubs and a shirt to go under the smock top. I bought socks in groups of 6 in every color of pants I had every time I saw them. No matter what you use some things just won't wash out or stop smelling unless it rendered the garment unusable for work. Thankfully I'm not picky about faded lounge wear and my garden isn't either. I always have lots of pockets for garden tools, seeds, and treasures to bring inside. You talked about ruining your T-shirts when you forget to bring a basket out the other day. It made me think of the number of times I used the oversized pockets of a old work smock for the same reason. Yes, every job has its own expenses
