I miss my grandparents! When I was a child, my grandma couldn't keep me out of the kitchen! I loved cooking, baking & preserving with her. Unfortunately for me, I never kept up with all her traditions. I'm realizing in the last 2.5 years, that I have to go back to my roots & keep those traditions alive. I need to have my daughter come watch me put up some things!
Those tater cakes sure look heavenly! M fiancé & I always watch your show. He can hardly wait for me to make them, but he was worried about the flour, bless his sweet heart, but I can use a gluten free 1:1 flour easily. I'll be making them soon!
Thank-you for sharing your Pawpaw with us! <3
I make mine just like you do but never added the oil…If you have never eaten with syrup and butter your missing out…..
Love it, we grew up having my Grandmother teaching my mum and loving what we called EggyPotties, the difference was no salt or onion, I am on an eight day fast with with 28 hours to go and I can taste those in my mind right now with Brown or Tomato sauce!
Mmmmm thank you so much for everything you graciously put out. 🙂
Yum!!! Thank you for sharing.
Now I’ve got to have them for dinner tomorrow! My mama made them all the time. We love them.
Looks Awesome! Thank you!❣
Great with Applesauce
Tater cakes, bean cakes, salmon cakes, chicken , tuna. I love them all. Tomorrow nights menu is pinto beans, cornbread and tater cakes.
I just blocked a slew of YT channels for fear mongering. This one is okay, thanks.
inspired me made corn fritters AMEN
At half 4 in the morning, you are killing me with these delectable treats I cannot have right now. What a tease!
I haven’t had tater cakes in such a long time…..I’m just going to have to make mashed taters so I can have a couple. Thank you for being so willing to share with us

Waste not. Want not
My Grandmother made these for us as kids. She always made extra mashed potatoes so some would be left. I made them for my children and my daughters make them for their children. We all really like them.
Love Tater Cakes!
I was so excited to see this video. My mother use to make these. It reminded me from her.
Those look great!!
I love this! We Master Canners have started a “waste not Wednesday” conversations. And this is perfect example! Thank you!
Awesome! You can do that with macaroni and cheese too.
My mom always made these but I haven’t had them in years.
I remember my grandmother making these and sometimes added corn
Looks yummy!
Add a poached egg on one of those and you have a great breakfast.
