VIDEO: Harvest the Garden with me (Peaceful Evening Homestead Chores) | VLOG

Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.

There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

  1. Great vlog …loved the harvest and the slow quiet pace. So glad you got good production out of some of the high tunnel plants! ❤️ Looking forward to seeing how you process them

  2. Your last video was quite, beautiful and peaceful, lovely ……
Every morning when I wake up, I open up my bedroom window that faces into the garden, it brings me peace and hope for another beautiful day, because of you this is happening for me, I appreciate your thoughts.

  3. "YAHUWAH" "The Most High" "The Almighty Loving YAH of all creation" and "Father" to us all has blessed you with a beautiful family lovely farm enjoy every minute in the same way we all enjoy watching you sister through your days, blessed we all our in so many ways, some just don't see it yet, but keep up the good work building up your new life, peace and love to all on earth. Baruk Hata Bashem "YAHUWAH" blessed is the name "YAHUWAH". The "ONLY"Most High, "YAHUWAH"

  4. Got my "Land to heal" sticker today! I put it on my back window on my truck. Tried blistered shishitos. Got a painfully hot one. Done with that. Keep the recipes coming! Jes from AR

  5. I made hot sauce with my hot ones. A fermented one & a vinegar based one. I tasted the fermented one & love it. The vinegar based one got pushed to the back of the fridge, so I'll have to dig it out in a couple of days to taste. When I'm ready to bottle them, I'll purée to liquid. I am drying some to grind for seasoning & chopping & freezing some to throw in whatever I'm cooking beit omelets, fried potatoes, soups or casseroles.

  6. First and only hot sauce I ever made was Acer homestead's Sriracha that I made with my first ever home grown peppers that where green Serranos but that's what I had and I made one bottle and gave it for a gift I hope to do more one day

  7. Jess that’s the style of apron I’ve been looking for. Is it any good? Was looking for a pattern to make one. Did you purchase it? If so could you tell me where please .

  8. Meg Hollar also dehydrates her peppers and powders them to use as a umami flavoring in soups and stews. She just does them as a mix. I imagine you could freeze dry them and powder that too.

  9. Love the video. Peaceful. Consider making Ristras since the holidays are coming up. I am in Texas (with NM ties as well.) We make them during this time for gifts, especially, to display your abundance. It is a drying and preserving method as well as beautiful.

  10. Can you not smoke and dry the peppers? Ie like chipotle ancho guajillo peppers? Add great notes to cooking. Sweet chilli sauce is another idea.

You could also make and freeze jalapeño poppers.
