  1. I love this and i love that we got to see part of your trip. This made me miss my mom, she lives in a different state, and this video reminded me of stuff i would do with my mom. Looks like you guys are really enjoying yourself!

  3. I hope you get to visit DC before you head home. I lived there for years and it's the most beautiful city in the world afaic. Only 70ish square miles with no skyscrapers, and no airport because it's too small, and is mostly a no fly zone. But very walkable with amazing monuments and museums. Enjoy your visit to the area!

  4. We just moved to the PNW, and I couldn’t believe they charge $300+ for car wash and detail. In the south I only pay $25 for basic wash and that includes vacuum, plus they hand dry our cars

  5. Becky, Your house sounds so echo echo echo….Needs some interior decorating. That is what makes a house a HOME. Just a thought. What a fun time with your mom. Building memories is always a great thing. I'm seeing GMO veggies at that farmers market. Yuk! Heirloom or organic only if you want to keep great gut health and reproductive organs working. GMO was designed that by the 3rd generation…..unable to reproduce.

  6. It's mid October (approaching our first frost date in Southern Ontario) here in Leamington and our Rapini/Brocolli Raab is still growing; hoping we can harvest some before the frost! Cool weather crop ! Looks like a fun trip with your mum.

  7. I think that the past your mum had was a cacio e pepe which is delicious this is the recipe I use:

    350 g (12 oz) of Spaghetti

    220 g (2 cups) of Pecorino Romano DOP

    14 g (2 tablespoons) of whole black peppercorns

    1,750 liters (7 1/2 cups) of water

    1/2 tablespoon of coarse salt

    Step 1) – First start by grating the Pecorino Romano. When ready, set aside in a bowl.Then grind the black peppercorns. For this you can use a pestle, a meat pounder or a pepper grinder adjusted so that it doesn’t grind too finely. The black pepper should not be a powder.

    Step 2) – Toast the ground pepper in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir occasionally and check to make sure it doesn’t burn. It will take 2 to 3 minutes and you will smell the intense aroma of the pepper. Set aside.

    Step 3) – Now boil the water with very little coarse salt (maximum 1/2 tablespoon) to cook the pasta. Respect the quantity of water indicated in the ingredients. This in fact, as you will learn, is essential for the success of the recipe.

    When the water boils, put in the spaghetti. Let the pasta cook for about 5 minutes.

    Step 4) – Meanwhile add 2 ladles of pasta cooking water to the toasted black pepper and turn the heat under the skillet to low.

    Step 5) – After the first 5 minutes of cooking, now is the time to transfer the pasta from the pot to the skillet. The spaghetti should FINISH COOKING IN THE SKILLET with the pepper.

    Step 6) – Check the cooking time on the spaghetti package. Add another ladle of pasta water if needed and stir to get even cooking.

    SAVE THE COOKING WATER. The pasta cooking water is rich in starch which is used to make the pasta creamy. You need it also to make the Pecorino cream

    Step 7) – While the pasta is cooking, make the Pecorino cream. Pour a ladleful of the starchy cooking water over the grated pecorino cheese and stir quickly. You’ll get a creamy consistency similar to ricotta.

    Step 8) – Once the spaghetti are cooked, turn off the heat, wait about half a minute and then add the pecorino cream a little at a time. Stir in the spaghetti evenly. Spaghetti cacio e pepe recipe is ready!

    If you like, add more grated pecorino just before serving and another sprinkle of pepper for garnish. Serve pasta Cacio e Pepe immediately and strictly hot.

  9. Being Danish, it's just really fun for me to hear that buildings from 1736 are old. It just really put things in perspective for me, because that is just everyday happenings here in Denmark – but it is special for you. It reminds me not to take the history around me for granted.
    I live in a city, founded as a fortress back in the mid 1600's and it's a fairly young city.
    Mind baffling!
