Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland, Australia, about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online, so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. You're not the only 'pickled' one who has had a bad season ๐Ÿ˜‰ (not me, no pickles, all good)

Great video – I have heaps of planting. Brisbane turned up the heat to full these last few days! Not ready for summer!

  2. A monthly video would be great with what you are planting, whatโ€™s growing well since last monthโ€™s planting, what is harvesting and what to prep for next month. and what work/maintenance needs to be done.

  3. Love the idea of month by month. Would be great to know what seeds you are planting each month too. You are my main source of food production education ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Thank you for all your videos Mark… love them all and share them! You have inspired me to start my garden, on the patio atm…but I also bought the Birdie raised bed. Any videos you make we all appreciate and only wish you and your family the very best. Take care.

  5. I'd like all your videos because you live so close to me and the videos are relative. If you do a round up for the month. Can you let us know what your planting for the month, not just what is growing. I seem to miss the timing for putting in the seeds.

  6. I love the idea of what you grow each month, and maybe (If I might be so bold as to suggest further content ideas) what you do each month to prepare or take care of your garden too.
I know you have a lot of videos on prepping the soil and clearing space once plants die down, but doing it following a year would be interesting.
One video on what you grow, and one on the "back-end" stuff so to speak.

  7. Each Month is GREAT!! Thank you for Great Content. You might mention how your environment relates to other Continents. I'm in Northern Northern California. It's similar to yours and opposite seasons. Love watching your channel.
