  1. I'm in Alabama, zone 7B. I just harvested out my peppers, and sowed seeds for my fall/winter garden. All of my raised beds have hoops, and are covered with cat netting to keel Angel out of them. They keep the deer away too, later I will be switching it out for greenhouse plastic. I have Komatsuna, Tatsoi, Baby Boc Choy, Japanese Giant Red Mustard, snow peas, and Yellow Heart Winter Choy that I am harvesting, I am also growing Russian Kale, Hilton Cabbage, Swiss Chard, lettuce, endive, dill, parsley, oregano, mint, carrots, radishes, turnips, rutabagas, Late Nagasaki Cabbage, Mizuna, Chijimisai, snow peas, and Yod Fah. I've never grown Asian greens before this season, nor have I tried eating most of them. Tonight I ate Komatsuna, mixed with red mustard, and Rainbow Swiss Chard. It was absolutely delicious!

  2. James, when is it best to start and transplant some or all of these plants for them to grow well in winter? In your climate, which is also mine?

  3. I grow most of these in winter and you are absolutely right about those Asian greens, cilantro and parsley. Easy to grow, can pick and come again for months. I wilt them in boiling water then strain and add them to noodles with a little oyster sauce to lightly coat the noodles for a super easy lunch or dinner. Add a few semi dried tomatoes and oh my goodness, next level delicious. And my summers are too warm to grow lettuce. It bolts right away, so its strictly a winter crop for me. I miss it in summer. Maybe the claytonia is what I need to try. I have just the shady spot for it. Thanks James! (Edit). I love tuck. What a brilliant little guy.
