They did pull that statement back, but then a week or so later they added it back in. I got in the same day they first "accidentally" let it out, I removed all my personal and banking information and then deleted it. PayPal has been sending me emails saying that there has been some type of a hack on my account, the one that was deleted.

I only use paypal for personal purchases, no business dealings. I just went it…clicked closed account and it seems to have gone through. I have not purchased anything through them for months. I do need to go into ebay and make sure paypal is not still there as the default payment. I know, I should get out of ebay, too…but I don't sell through there, only buy… and I am buying from private people or small businesses….however, that might work out either as I don't use my credit card very many places…so, for now, I won't close that .
I tried to cancel my account, but it says I have a balance that has to be used before being able to cancel. So apparently this $10 balance that I was unaware of is from PP for whatever reasons gifted to me, but I want to close the account. Any recommendations?

Very similar issues for me. Going on 2 weeks of trying to close my account. 3 phone calls later and my account is still open.
You can cancel and change your bank account tied to the account in the meantime.
Call your state attorney,{ Which ever state you are in} and make a consumer complaint about paypal

I had nothing in my PayPal account and no transactions within the last 60 days so I was able to close it quickly.
I would have said I would be speaking to my attorney because I like you did not agree to these new tos. Also I received no communication either.
Same situation here for me my account can not be shut down until 180 days after the last transaction occurred. Ironically my date of finality is Thanksgiving day.
For 2 months I have been charged $10.94 from my bank account for "Google Wonder Share". I called the number associated with it. Followed the prompts down the rabbit hole to no avail and the computer voice disconnects. Has anyone else heard of this or had it happen?
I couldn't figure out how to close my PayPal, so deleted all credit and debit cards. Hopefully that will take care of their being able to access my finances.
100% PayPal is shady untrustworthy.

I can see PayPal going bankrupt soon and I would love to see them before a judge.
When I saw the title of this video I thought you were going to talk about the banks who were starting a digital currency trial today for the next 30 days to see if it will work. I'm just glad I'm not with any of the banks that are testing this. Also, I never set up a PayPal account because it just didnt feel right to me. I'm sorry that you had to go through all that hassle to try to close it.
