  1. Back in the 70’s when I had my babies we had night gowns that were made just for breast feeding. They were made with slits near each breast area so you could access your breast without having to open buttons or anything. It was like a pleat that you couldn’t see. They were great. You might want to wear a night gown instead of PJ’s for the first few days until your birth area heals. We were given ice bags to lay on to help the healing process the first two days. Please use them they are a god send. Really helps with healing. If I had it to do over I would just use the hospital provided gowns while your at the hospital it’s much easier. Now your only in the hospital for one day and they discharge you the next. When I delivered my babies we were in the hospital 3 days and more if your baby was jaundiced and you were breast feeding. I couldn’t stand wearing PJ for a couple of weeks after delivering.

  2. Becky, I am so excited for you and Josh. I am 70 and was never blessed to have one of God's greatest gifts, a child. But I do truly love the fact that you are taking us with you as you prepare for your delivery. I think it is wonderful that you can share what you have purchased with your viewers and ask questions about what you may still need. I am happy that you did a very little splurge on yourself for the hospital stay. You are special and deserve to make yourself feel confident and pretty. Even if you missed a few items for the baby or yourself, at least Josh's family is very close and your parents are not too far away. I am sure they will be glad to get whatever you need. Especially if they can see the new baby Angel. I can not even imagine how scary and exciting having a baby could be. I think I may have mentioned this already but if not, a friend of mine had a large garden and she made most of her baby food from it. For example, she would cook green beans for her babies without any seasonings, blend them in the blender, put them in ice trays, and freeze them. After they were frozen she would put them in freezer ziplock bags. I pray that you and your beautiful gift from God will have a safe and easy (if that is possible LOL) delivery and that your beautiful baby will be perfect. I do know that you and Josh will be amazing parents. God bless all three of you and be with you always.

  3. I do not envy you the uncertainty of being ready, but you will be. We never had a crib for our 3 kids. We used a pack N play and it had a "bassinet" section and changing section that could be adjusted when they got older. Then when they got too big for that, we had them sleep on mattresses on the floor until we felt it safe for them to be in a regular bed. A suggestion – never wear white again 😀 Baby stains are hard to get out. The best stain remover I have used is equal parts blue dawn dish soap and baking soda and 2 parts hydrogen peroxide. Catch the stain (and scrub) as soon as you can and soak it for about an hour before washing. Check to see if the stain is gone before putting in the dryer or it will set the stain.

  4. Ps.. do not forget to pack your phone charger, and an extension cord! You never know where the plug ins are in the room. Also, I would download some audiobooks and soothing music you can enjoy when you alone with the baby and just want to be soothed.

  5. Snot sucker!! When I have a new born I can’t live without a Nose Frida snot sucker! Little babies get mucusy and a blocked nose means they can’t breathe when breastfeeding.
Good luck, and God bless, I will pray you have a safe and manageable delivery.

  6. For the hospital you will need some granny panties in a loose fit, some tank tops or nursing tops, a sweater or bed jacket and something comfy to wear home like sweats. Get some heavy duty pads as well. The hospital will give you some gripper socks (ugly but useful) and diapers and a bunch of stuff for baby. Bring an outfit for baby and a receiving blanket. Tucks are your friend! Buy bunches. Looking forward to your happy day! Congratulations! Oh, you can make your own chocolate covered pretzels pretty quickly. Be careful with light colored bottoms. Leaks are a given and post partum is messy. I would recommend using your ratty sweats at home for the first week or so.

  7. Love you Becky! You're doing great in your research and preparation! Have a good supply of feminine pads, many a few sizes even heavy flow size. Also tucks pads to ease perineal pain while healing. Stool softener may be a close confidant as well for a time after you get home as your body heals and adjusts. Love from Sherwood Oregon ❤️

  8. Becky, I am so excited for you and Josh. I'm glad you're thinking about yourself and being comfortable as well as thanks for the baby. I would like to add just in case you get the heartburn which is quite normal postpartum that Wintergreen and or peppermint lozengers or Wintergreen Canadian mints to suck on help. Take the time after the baby's born for you Josh and baby we will be here when you're back. Sending hugs prayers and love

  9. FYI Birds are Extra Germy and the droppings. When a child family member was ill, the Mayo Clinic said to enjoy the Zoo for an outing but to avoid the Birds altogether. So please be careful. So excited for you to meet your Baby.

  10. Becky, Becky, stop, take a deep breath and enjoy the moment! You will not be alone, all the nurses and doctors will be there to educate you. Ask questions, get a little note books and start writing them down now as you think of them. Don’t forget to ask Josh what HIS fears and questions are too. Becky your gonna be fine. Babies are such joy. Stop and smell the roses, as they grow up too fast. God’s abundance blessings and protection on everyone always. We are not going anywhere, we will be right here when your ready to return.

  11. Throughout my pregnancy, I often slept with a little Beany Baby stuffed-animal between my breasts – so that it would have my scent on it. My baby ended up in the NICU for a couple weeks, so I was glad I had this to tuck close to her.

  12. I'll state up front that I'm not a parent, but after reading some of the (lovely) comments, I wanted to add that it is also okay if motherhood DOESN'T come naturally to you. It's okay if it doesn't immediately feel easy and intuitive. It's okay if you struggle to get used to it. It's okay if you feel awful for a while and aren't enjoying yourself.

It's wonderful that for some people it comes so very easily, but sometimes you have to work at it… and that's okay. You're not a failure if you're not a natural.

  13. Becky I so enjoyed this day, as I feel it was a day shopping with you. We have only Target here in Newcastle, Australia. Never heard of Ross either. I found myself smiling when you were picking out the pj's as they have a sale on similar ones as we have just entered Summer (although today was a little cooler). We had our big family picnic we have every year for Christmas, with Santa Elf, and it was a lovely day with lolly bags and presents for each of the children in the family. Our Christmas is water sports and water pistols as it is hot here. Watching this was the perfect end to our busy Sunday. We lost our patriarch three months ago and we were apprehensive about the picnic without him but it turned out wonderfully. Love to you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  14. it is 2:54 am. I am not pregnant or itchy, but I have chronic pain and have major sleep issues, so not being able to sleep due to discomfort, I so understand…..praying for safe and easy delivery and healthy baby and mama.

  15. Tip button jeans/ pants hold one end in each hand wrap waistband around neck if it's short (materia does not meet in back of neck) lt's too small & won't fit . If material (overlaps) it's too big. Ends meet it will fit.

  16. Definitely consider pure lanolin for your nipples after. The Lanisoh brand does one or there’s one called pure lan 100. Also one of the best tips
My midwife gave me before was to buy nappy cream and put it on baby before they do the meconium poo. Made cleaning up so easy. The weleda calendula nappy cream is a great natural one. All their products are so great and really clean ingredients ❤
