  2. QUESTION: I live in Spokane County and I am wondering, when do you start your tomatilloes? Do you start them indoors and then transplant? I am a 3rd gen native Floridian and I have YET to be able to get a decent harvest before the freeze kills them. I started this year in March

  3. You definitely need to secure those shelves. You can see them bowing in the middle with the weight of your jars. We have these same style shelves and used 2×4's laid along the underneath of the shelves and screws put through the side slats of the shelving unit into the ends of the boards. This makes the shelves extremely solid! If you lay them along the shelf with the 4 inch side, you won't see the boards sticking out underneath the sides. Get a darker screw and it will blend pretty well with the color of your shelves.

  4. So excited when I saw you posted! I have been loving making broth in my new electric pressure canner that I finally felt the courage to get after watching you Becky! Also just FYI, I noticed you had left some rings on your tomato salsa. Not sure if you saw that.

  5. great video Becky always good to see how you got started and how it has grown over the years I to am going to utilize my space to make a food pantry so I too can stock up we only have cupboards right now but have utilized as much as I can. your channel as given me so much inspiration. i am investing in a chest freezer in the new year. lots of love to you josh and your unborn child. xxx

  6. Hello Becky, your pantries look wonderful.
However, I am concerned about your safety so I must ask you if your shelves down stairs are attached to the back walls so thery are stable and won’t fall forward on you.

  7. I’ve been a long time fan, watching from the beginning! This has been my favorite video! Thank you for sharing your food storage & prep ideas! Can’t wait to get into the next season! Best wishes for your new arrival!

  8. First of all; remember to BREATHE! You are carrying some extra weight now and I noticed that you had to catch your breath more often when speaking, we doesn´t wan you to faint!

You can support the shelfs by putting a stick of wood between them in the middle, starting from the floor. If very heavy do that at both sides, supporting the shelf frames. You´ve got yourself a handy man, ask him to fix it.

May I ask where I can find thoose big mixing bowls? They seems to be great for a lot of things! Also a tip for the recipes on your Scratchpantry page – could you put a note if the recipe is suitable for water- or pressure canning…for us beginners.

  9. Love that you have datu puti, that’s our soy sauce and vineger brand here in the philippines.

Your pantry is so amazing and you are a superwoman becky, still super energetic!

  10. Could you cook your tomato sauce for a long time to make some tomato paste? Also I'd love to see you make some chutneys/relish (tomato or fruit etc.) and also stewing fruit (compote) which you can have for dessert. I don't use a stick mixer/immersion blender I just cook the fruit whole in sugar, spices and then preserve. I don't mind like you have with the apple sauce but I also like keeping the fruit whole. I love stewed rhubarb, plums, peaches etc. I have it with hot custard (creme anglaise) in the winter or ice cream in the summer. Thanks for your videos.
