Oh Petera you as are so right..I retired in 2019 and then the world "fell apart" and it has been a struggle ever since..My husband passed away, and I had used my retirement to pay so many bills I had no idea were there several times…I have nothing to live on but my SS benefits, I had to move in with my brother and his wife to be able to survive…I have been watching you for over a year and working on a pantry here…however, I'm trying now to find something to do at home so we can dedicate more to it as I feel like you we don't have an inkling of what is to come…every time I go to the store I buy a few cans extra and a flat of water…I am concerned…I wish I had continued to work…prep and pray everyone and listen to Patera and James!!!
Some have been forced to "retire" early and start their pensions because they can't find work now. I can't imagine what it will be like in 2023 so yeah, if you have a job right now, especially if you still have any type of debt, keep that job as long as you can and at least try to make it through this next year or two. I speak from experience…it is already difficult if you are at retirement age or close to it to find another job out there. Don't be impatient, hold on if you can.

I'm an independent truck driver and I've been trying to sell my truck and trailer for 2 months with no interest in either. I've only been driving for 8 years, but as a 5ft tall female who is no Spring chicken any longer, my body is taking a beating and breaking my left patella in September doesn't help in driving a 10 speed truck. If I can't sell them I will continue working for myself driving my truck, but it would be nice to have the option to work in a different area of the transportation industry using my education from a former life outside of trucking, in addition to to my driving experience. I've been praying over this decision for months with friends praying for me too, and I have wondered if God is telling me now is not the time. I love watching your videos and all that you share.

I retired last year after 41 years of practicing pharmacy, but can't stand to be idle, so now I work as a substitute teacher. Usually work 3 days per week. If it's time to retire, one option may be to change directions and slow down, but keep working, possibly at something totally different. Keeps the mind and body going.
Keep working as long as you can. Pay everything off and purchase everything you will need for the next 20 years, tools, land, etc. Retired & worked part time. Lost my job to RIF….no unemployment, no severance or retirement. Still looking. Keep your job…while becoming self sufficient.
This is exactly why my husband has kept his job. He is retirement age and draws, but he kept his job and just cut back a few hours. That was a decision we saw the need for a couple years ago. Our plan is to have him keep working until he reaches 70-71 and then reassess.
Find it interesting that here in N MN our stores are jammed with peeps n most have 1/2 a cart or more. N our shelves are not bare. The only store with supply probs is Dollar Tree but that is due to few workers. The floor is piled high with cartons not opened n shelved. Wonder what the difference is between supply chain from N n S?!?
In September the company that I worked for over 30 years told its retirement age employees that they would see a 20% reduction in retirement pension if they waited past November 30 to retire. Over 100 of the 700+ bailed out Nov. 30.

Anyone who has a job and can work should be earning as much as they can and socking it away right now. Everyone should be trying to figure out how to pay things off and cut back also.
My husband is 65 and he was going to retire December 31 2022. After reviewing finances, we are going t put it off to December 2023. I’m not sure it’s going to be any better after 2023 though.
That happened to a couple of us who reached out 80 points to retire and we retired, 6 months later our company offered $10,000 to retire plus all benefits for two years so what you're saying is true thank you

The two malls near us are dead. One is going up for auction and one is already converting stores to medical facilities and maybe a hotel/motel.
You need a couple donkeys.
Check with your company. A local large company is allowing their employees with so many years and a certain age to draw their pension and continue working because they were loosing workers.
