VIDEO: Why I Love Woodchip Paths

Wonderfully crumbly, earthy-smelling woodchips make the most superb garden paths. Just one of the reasons I love them.

  1. I was taking a stroll on my local woods the other day and there was a MOUNTAIN of wood chip. Mustbe been dumped there. Couldn't quite believe it. If I had a van, a wheel barrow and time, I'd absolutely take some

  2. Woodchips is the way to go!! I put cardboard down 3 years ago from a furniture store that saved it for me. Then got free Woodchips from local tree service. I put down atleast 12 inches. Then built my raised beds on top. Alot of work but so worth it. Going on my 4th year now and no weeds!

  3. Why stop at your path? You can put them on top of all your beds and it stops slugs often and mimics nature. So, also cuts down the need to water your plants so much as helps to keep the soil below moist .

  4. I’ve been going every afternoon to our municipal building to get a few containers of free wood chips at a time…slowly turning our boring lawn into raised beds and wood chip paths!
