Life has been so busy that I’m 3 videos behind! Which means just more of Becky to watch and unwind.
How good is the cram and milk once it’s defrosted? I think that’s something I’ve always wanted to know.
oh no the salsa canning receipe is gone.
I don't remember having hens that completely stopped laying in winter. As long as I made sure food and water was always available, I'd get at least 3 eggs from a dozen hens each day.
When you spend time outside the home on dates, you are more likely to concentrate on each other.
It's safe to eat eggs straight from the chicken? No pasteurization?
I always hated getting thick liquids out of ziploc bags. I found if I can’t reuse the bag, I cut a corner off and squeeze it out like a make shift piping bag. Then I don’t have to contend with the zipper opening
I love that you are blessed to spend time with your Dad. These are the times you will remember in the years to come. I lost my Dad 20 yrs ago yet I am also blessed to have such great memories of our time spent together.
Love it! Used your baked oatmeal recipe twice. It's been so good.
Hoping it’s OK for me to share this here, as I really want to tell someone about it! I’m so inspired by the pantry challenge, but I don’t actually have a pantry. I live in a small flat, and only have a dry goods cupboard and a tiny freezer.
I’m also chronically ill, both physically and mentally, so my spoon drawer is empty most days.
This is why I’ve started making freezer meals. I usually do that about 3 times a year, and I make everything from scratch those times (including bone broth).
Having ready made meals in my freezer is invaluable for those days/weeks/months when I’m not able to do anything, but also leaves me with more energy to do the things I want when I have space for that in my life. I also live alone, so doing big freezer meals reduces my food waste so much!
So, I made up my own pantry challenge. After a year best forgotten, my freezer and cupboard was neglected. I had no idea what was in them, and kept buying easy meals, or getting Hello Fresh boxes, and that isn’t really on my budget. I decided that my pantry challenge would be to fill my pantry (or freezer), setting me up for about 3 months of meals. I also wanted to use up as much of what was in my freezer and cupboard as possible.
After last week, not only is my freezer filled to the brim with meals, I also sent about 34 dinner portions to my Mom, Dad and Grandma. And, I’m happy to say, the only “raw” food in my freezer at the moment is two chicken breasts, a tiny bit of vegetables and some berries. It feels so good, and I’m so proud of myself!
To those of you that have read my whole comment, thank you. I hope you’ll have a great weekend!
Date nights are important ! Good job having the party without going to the store!!!
One way to brown sausage like that, for future reference, is to put them on a sheet pan and use the broiler to brown. That way you can still be doing other things while it browns.
Why are you using a knife to open your jar instead of using the jar opener you were "gifted" in your PO box?
Those mashed potatoes will be perfect for potato soup if they don't work quite right for reconstituted mashed potatoes.
How much milk do you use for your baked oatmeal and at what temp?
FYI: The IP Mac & Chees or Baked Oatmeal recipes link have not been linked in the info box. TIA for adding them!
So how did those spuds turn out?
So, just curious… why haven't you dehydrated some half & half yet, especially since you have done milk? Is the fat content an issue? Speaking of fat … could you do chicharrones? Thanks for sharing!
Have you tried freeze drying milk and half and half, and mixing it together in one container as a backup yet?
i love those naan!! i cook them in the toaster! haha
