I've seen people position mirrors in their garden outside, to cast more direct light, inside. I will be trying it next winter. Here in Australia, we're in the middle of summer . So access to light, is definitely NOT a problem at the moment. 🙂
Great information ty, from a pro to a pro…
Great tips! I like to take advantage of cold winter days when I long to be outside to go around and wipe clean all the plant leaves. I use a diluted mixture of neem oil, Castile soap, water and rosemary essential oil so it also helps with any pests who might be eyeballing my plants, and gives a nice light shine to the leaves.
Some of my plants having yellow leaf at the bottom ( I mean the old leaves) in this winter. Is it normal??
I try to water only from the bottom. And I watch the plant’s form – I can tell when they begin to lose their ooomph. Foliage droops ever so slightly – sometimes even stems will begin to droop. Sit them in a sink of water for 15-20 minutes and they wake up!
This help me a lot for someone (like myself) I’m having a hard time with one of my plant. It gets drafty in my home and I need to replot it because it out grown the container pot. I’ll definitely will refer to this video. I’m curious as to what other advice you have for plant parents who are just starting out.
Is it BAD to repot in the winter? Will it harm my plants?
With a a grow light, is that similar to giving your plants direct or indirect light? Assuming the grow light is directed at the plants.
Thank you for this video! I started collecting plants in the winter time, and a couple have died. I realized I was over watering and had reduced the humidity by having the heater on. You’ve helped me saved my other plants! Thanks!
I grow succulents, and some of them are summer dormant, so I have grow lights and a heating mat for them so that they flourish during the colder months. I actually also find having them, in particular, nearer a heating vent (but not where it gets a draught) because the soil doesn't stay wet as long when they are watered.
I'm confused if a room is cold wouldn't I need a space heater to keep my plants warm during the winter?? Would a space heater +humidifier combo work??
Great tips! I'm nervous about caring for my plants in the winter since I've gotten them during the summer but I'm feelimg confident that they will do well.
Epic will u pls consider doing a video on how ur more unusual plants are doing atm and how they react to the season change? When do you bring your plants inside?
Do you really have to do watering less if you are going to do bottom watering?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Was searching for a video like this with 100% information for plant lovers. Thank you also for getting down to business and treating us as if we were adults who need this information to help the plants we care about survive the winter in the best possible shape.
Can I propagate my pothos in winter, my nephew accidentally broke a long vine and I don't know what to do with it…
Wish i think I’m in love
Winters are just hard four humans and plants.
I have terra cotta pots. I usually water every 10- 13days. I just dampen the water. I rotate them, and I have a room that windows are facing south. But this room is cooler…so what do you suggest??
Finally!! It's Mid February and I'm debating about re-potting some of my plants that are cramp in their nursery pot. I know that in the spring I'm busy with school and social life( a social life that barely exists) so I wanted to repot as were heading to spring soon(like end of February/beginning of March). Thanks so much for the video.
Thank you for this great video!
