Do u fertilize potatoe plants? Seems you have clay soil..
Great tip my friend !! I use the bags and just fill them with potting soil or grass clippings and coffee grounds 🙂
Great tips for hilling taters!
That raised bed looks good! I've got half of my potatoes in bags and half in a raised bed. I have hilled them and can't wait until harvest!
🙂
Great tips, Huw! Your plants look great!
Another great video.
The green mulch will keep in that extra moisture that the potatoes need and break down and build up the soil over time. Great Job
Huw, don't you have problems with earth moles. They make molehills everwhere, and they also destroy my potato beds. How to scare them away?
Great tip. That's a lot of plants–at harvest time you will have many sacks of potatoes!
Straw mulch is good, except for the slugs, that hide in it!!
Great tips, thanks!
Is there any soil in that rock bed of yours?
look like he planted in a bunch of rocks. who the hell plant anything with a bunch of rock in garden. and he should have bed it up before he plant. not after. this guy obviously need to take a course in agricultural before he try to show someone how to plant potatoes again.
Thank you, this was a very helpful video. I didn't have a great yield from my potatoes this season, and after watching this I think perhaps I didn't hill them soon enough. Next time! Thanks for your time and effort in making these videos.
Hi Huw!!!!!!!Llandovery loves you❤️❤️❤️
Great idea Huw, I learned a lot from all of your videos, and it really helpful, Thanks for brilliant ideas. Wish you all the best.
Does using the lawn clippings encourage weeds to sprout and grow? I had thought to use straw but it seems to attract slugs
I enjoyed watching your video and learning from it. Thank you.
just as I go to hill them I see new ones coming up
Can this be done effectively with compost?
Can anything be planted in the gaps between spud rows (to maximise use of space in small plots?). If so, what works well please?
WHY THE POTATOES DON'T GROW IN HILLY AREAS …WHY???
Wow! This bed is all rocks. My soil is perfect in nearly every way, I am so blessed.
