Very, very thoughtful of you to make this video. You are the best kind of gardener, passing along your experience, knowledge, wisdom and love of growing your own food. Your a good example for new gardeners to follow.
I got one of those and they are great for a whole garden for a low price. I had great germination rate. I think being an experience Gardner and wanting to try different kinds of veggies this is a great way to go to save some money and get the basics or try a lot of new veggies for a low price.so in their defense of small amounts you can save seeds from your crop as well.

I found the sustainable seed company and bought the bug out bag. Didn't know they had things like 'survival seed kits' I started my very own veggie patch July 2020 after we moved into our very own home after renting for years. Im finding im most at peace when I'm tending to my garden
I keep and reflect on a gardening journal in case I forget something and learn from past experiences
I actually bought the patriots seed pack a couple months ago. I am already growing them. I wish I would have seen the others but am happy with what I have. I have also purchased other seeds to supplement. This is my first garden other than just some tomatoes. I am recently retired and have a really bad back do my husband built me a table out of scrap wood to put buckets on. I am hoping to get some good out of all of this. I've got seeds that mice peed on should I try & grow them or will they harm me or just not grow? Does anyone know?
I bought a multi seed pack from Amazon in 2020. It had 40 varieties for 25$. Black Duck Brand. Had 3 different types of herbs and tons of variety. My only disappointment was the were no corn seeds. We are going to try permaculture with the three sisters this year and now I may be a little behind in the process. Overall a great choice for beginners in my opinion.

Onion and parsnip seeds are not a good one for storage. However, with the extremely reduced fertility rate, leftover seeds can be thrown in a garbage bed. I have had luck with that.
I have rutabaga seeds, and amaranth seeds from park seeds from 2001 that have germinated this year with 75 percent germination. 20 year old seeds are still viable.

Your last statement here has been something I’ve been repeatedly saying the last few years as the prepper movement has grown into mainstream ideas like buying an emergency pack of seeds in case of emergency-how useful is that going to be if you have no experience growing anything? I tell people if you’re going to save a seed vault for emergency, doesn’t it make sense to at least practice growing some of the stuff in your pack now, so you have experience when something happens? Do you really want to be learning on the only seeds you might be able to get? Makes more sense to me to buy two bags, throw one in the deep freezer, and grow a few things per year for the knowledge of it.
I can’t plant most plants until late May or early June, and when I started looking for seeds in January, a lot of my favourite stores were already sold out of the varieties I wanted. I’m already making lists of what I want for next year.
I keep mine in ziplocs and inside of a solid black tub, with the clamp down lid… might be over kill, but it is my way.
Ice chests have worked well for me for storing seeds.
I feel that it be easier to buy what seed you love and save them in a plastic bag with moist absorbed and put the bag in a plastic seal container.

My sweetie bought me a Patriot Heirloom survival seed kit several years ago. I only broke into it this year to start a garden, and they have been wonderful! So far, almost every seed I've planted has germinated and grown. I'm quite pleased. 🙂
I purchased a paper box with 132 kinds of seed and 21 herbs preservation is part of this so I picked up an 18 dollar on how to preserve everything without refrigeration my seeds were 62 dollars and I bought 2 years ago , today the same box is 102 dollars
My kid got very nervous last summer when they reported shortages. I have a big garden, but she decided to plant her own. She went with seeds scavenged from grocery store produce.
The peppers were slow growing but the plant was strong with very prolific durable peppers.
We learned chickpeas don't grow well in zone 7b. Black and kidney beans do fine kinda.
She even grew carrots tops. Obviously no taproot, but we used tbe greens for pesto and when it went to seed she planted those and we had early winter carrots. To be honest I was shocked it did so well.
Shes got an internship this summer but comes every weekend to work in our new joint garden. She helped pick out the seeds and has been a true partner in this.
