sepp holzer would say those mounds weren't tall enough.
Just watching this episode in January 2019. So excited for both of you. You are clearly excited about your garden and gardening.
I must say that I am really ENJOYING these videos! I have learned so much that will help me in my garden this year, and I am thankful for this. Thanks to both of you!
update please?
I love how excited y'all got seeing the garlic sprouting <3
Great idea but can you use straw instead as the mulch ?
Your new boots are awesome. Keep up the great work!
You two are so adorable together! Thank you for teaching and sharing your knowledge and success!
When it decomposes it breaks down to 1/10 volume. You gotta use more hay. 16-36” deep
If you go five foot deep you plant the sides of the mound
Great videos, thanks
Guys, im from Germany and i will share this completely unuseful but nevertheless interesting fact with you: Hugel from Hugelculture is a german Word (Hügel) and means Hill. Tadaaaa.
Btw, I really like your Vids, thank you for the free education and experience! Keep up the good Work!
Hay or straw one has seeds the other doesn't ??
I love these videos! I can't stop watching it and I just discovered it today! Have you considered planting asparagus in the fall? There's a man on YouTube who says that if you plant asparagus in the fall in the spring when you go to harvest it actually brings up the minerals from deep in the ground. And I figured that using your method plus his method wood really be productive for you.
Pee on them all winter and they will brake down by spring
Thank you once again for this very interesting and informative video.
Didn't Ruth leave the seeds lightly cover with soil but no hay cover
Will straw work? I have a bail I need to get rid of
It's awesome to see the garlic coming out under the hay! I'm so impressed with my Huggel Kultures.
Thanks for the happy Eastern Wishes, this weekend it will be Eastern in 2020, most people are in a sort of lock donw due to the Corona-Virus,. I hope everyone stays healty.
I love listening to a gardener see life spring from the earth !!! You…”this could be one we planted last year…..look here is one…oh and here is another one…look over here, there are more….yeah it’s just the way we spaced them….look there’s more…..oh this is exciting….I think it worked”……..I was getting all excited because I can just feel what you’re feeling !!! I love it 🙂
My two daughters sent me photos of little signs of “life” poking up in their flower beds so I had to go take a picture of my rhubarb poking through !!!
USDA zone 3 northern Minnesota so its a bid deal :))
Happy gardening !
Well, how fortuitous is this! I came here today, Easter Sunday, to look…and you wished me Happy Easter!
Deer don't dig underground for food. They're browsers.
funny, what you can do, if you have enough space.
does the ruth stout method work in climates where it doesn’t snow?
The Roots can get through even fresh cardboard if it is wet. Good job guys. Great to see God's blessings.
/sees a fresh hole in a mound
/uses bare hands to prod at it.
i wouldnt!
maybe a layer of manure then the hay would help it break down faster.
I planted a garlic clove about 3 years ago and forgot about it, lost it in the jungle of grow cover type of flower (that are already in place), stepped on it and snapped it a few times (my bad!)… Last week I found a good 10 cm of green coming out of a hard as cement ground!!! It now has a transparent plastic cover for freeze protection as well as stomping protection 🙂 Garlic is an amazing plant!
