It’s been really funny to me that people put stuff out so early it’s like they forget about the nighttime lows or something. But I’ve kind of learned most of my growing knowledge from indoors and temperature is a big deal for optimal plant growth and so it just makes sense to me to wait till the night time lows are at a decent temperature.
Thank you.
Love to see the experiments!! Saves me lots of time!
Is 6 inches enough planting distance for salanova lettuce if you plant them with the paperpot transplanter? I heard the ideal planting distance is 12 inches.
Thank you so much for sharing what you do and how you do it to save others (possibly) the growing pains (no pun intended lol) of getting started and of starting up. I am an aquaponics enthusiast but I really enjoy your videos and appreciate your dedication to your craft and business and hope to do what you are doing someday 😀
Great video. I like what you said about holding off on starting certain plants such as tomatoes. I also am going to hold off starting tomatoes by about a month.
Thank you so much for all you share.
Blessings,
Jim
Are you considered a master gardener? I know you are a master gardener, just wondering if you ever went through the process. Thanks
Same as you, I tried growing tomatoes early last year, but a bit later (feb indoors). I maybe got tomatoes a week ahead of usual, not really worth the trouble of putting them out early. This year I am growing wala wala onions from seed so starting those now indoors since they can handle the cold just fine in march.
I can't wait to see the microgreen footage! HODOR! I mean HURRY!
Hi there I'm interested to start my one but would like to ask how to sell or find costumers to sell the crops
Subtitles please
Starting in january or late february has the same results, every year I find starting tomatoes later is much more beneficial
Curtis you are the best. I was one of your first 5k subs. You better watch that pace, you are an animal, don't burn out.
cool
With the Paper Pot plugs, do you "harden off" at all or do you go straight into the beds with transplants?
I found some crops do worse if I plant to early
Hey Curtis I have this plot that's a bit steep but it's a wide space, my question is if you have come across plots like this how would you go about it. I own the land, it's really close to the city, and has a nice building at the top of it that I could make into a microgreens/prepping and packing warehouse. The steepness of the land really makes me wonder how to go about it and the challenges it could bring in.
Don’t know if you mentioned it Curtis, what month did your tomatoes ripen? I started a whole bunch inside last year and still didn’t really get a good crop till about the middle of July.
Always great hearing from The Urban Farmer.
I wonder if Curtis has ever grown cannabis?

Riverside, .ca ! See you there Curtis!
My husband and I will be at the GrowRiverside conference and our son will be attending your 2 day workshop here during that time (if money allows I’ll attend as well!) My question is; in terms of level of information and hands on experience, would it be better to try to attend the AZ workshop instead? We live here in Riverside and thank you so much for booking here!
Hey Curtis,
Not sure if you have done in the past but would you be able to post a video about planting seasons.
Eg: Type of plant, time of year, crop rotation timeframes & sequencing.
This information should be aimed at rookies that are getting started. (Me)
This also could be in your book that I’m waiting for also. Many thanks.
Curtis, do you think it is possible to use a Singing Frogs Farm-style crop-out and bedprep with the Paper Pot transplanter?
Curtis why don't you keep animals on your farm? Would you look at doing so?
Curtis I always wondered why you are not growing saffron. What do you think about ''Pur Safran'' in Quebec. They seem to be doing great.
Always giving value!
What about the taste? I heard the taste is exponentiated when the crop starts to grow during cool time.
