  1. Living in Maine, I have see a lot of Black Bear and scat. But they normally are only around fruit trees or bird feeders. The feeders come in at night. However, we've had tons of fox of late and I'm more worried about them than the bears. Hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving, we did!

  2. Girlfriend! You can have the coconut, not a fan. I assume the bear would harm your animals. Are the bears protected in your area?
This year, our family gathered for Thanksgiving as some now have natural immunity and Grandpa and I got or vaccines. We were blessed to be together. We had a wedding recently and saw more folks then.
Got to share You yesterday. Can't wait to hear about it. Love your spunk, attitude, knowledge, etc.
Take care, young lady and fellows. On to Happy frugal holidays.

  3. Your long story short thing is misleading. You have the gift of gab, so when you say that, we all know, well stop for a minute, get some more coffee, because she is going to jabber for a while. It's hilarious.

  4. We just got Bear Horns from Amazon. Hand sized air horns to scare off coyotes in case they attack our chihuahuas. YouTube had a video of a coyote walking into someone’s yard and grabbed their chihuahua. When they used this horn, thank goodness it dropped the dog and it survived. We plan to keep the Bear Horns close to the front and back door. You may want to carry one with you in case you need it.

  5. Hey… Lived in Rocky Mt Nat.Park. Bear use animal "trails". One deck on a house that was built on a bear trail had bear crossing the deck daily outside the big window!

  6. Bears are back here in Georgia , they were on my daughters school playground. We don’t live on the mountain , we live near a ridge that leads to the mountains . But several have been on subdivisions here in my area and in downtown . Several have been hit on the hwy close to where I live . Sad but true . Got to be careful now ..

  7. We live amongst many black bear here in NH. They just ramble through, never go after our livestock. Just don’t put bird feeders out from May 1st to Dec 1st. I hope you do see one passing through, very beautiful creatures and typically not aggressive, they’re more scared of you than you may be of them.

  8. I grew up in Northern Minnesota. Bear all around, even eating out of the bird feeders. Me and my many sisters played in the wood for hours a day. Never saw a bear and was never afraid. When they hear voices and noise off they go. My Dad never worried about us in the woods with bear. They are more a nuisance than anything else.

  9. We had a bear attack our coop a few years back in our last house. Luckily the coop was very well built and the bear caused minimal damage and didn't get any of my girls. Bears are scary on a homestead.
