I'm trying to get some work done and you're getting me side tracked. lol Good video.
Your boards you use for the raised beds, are they treated at all, either chemically or pressure? reason i ask is, as the boards break down, they actually can become compound and beneficial to the soil but if they have chemicals in them it could do the opposite and be bad.
I'm finding it enjoyable just seeing sun in this video. We are having a nasty snow storm today.

What is your opinion on permaculture compared to the standard method of gardening?
How do you feel about permanent soils? Been hearing a lot of modern potting soils are more or less just organic matter which breaks down and leads to root compaction. Also heard plants just like being in mineral soils with a top layer or organic matter more. How much of this should I listen to? Just wanted your perspective.

Earlier today, I was watching some other videos, and I was wondering about why Mr&Mrs MI Gardner use raised beds. Like, I was wondering the benefits of it, and then they posted this! It makes me so happy when things work out nicely like that lol
As I see it, the gardener should just give plants a little push to get started and occasional attention thereafter. And raised beds allow you to do that quite well.
I'm curious about when you plan to start your zucchini/cucumber seeds…
Hi Luke. I'm planning on growing my garden in raised beds. I found out that the soil is covered with grubs, eeewwww. My question is should I completely do a box raised beds or can I leave the bottom open just add landscape fabric? Thank you for your time.

Great video. I'm curious of what you think about water quality? The last 4 years I have had raised beds (love them) watered with city water. Last year we moved to the country and the first thing I did was build raised beds. The plants seemed to grow very slowly and my seedlings seem to be doing the same thing. We have a lot of limestone where we are and I was wondering if that has anything to do with water quality. Thanks

It appears as if there is little or no mulch in your raised beds. Is this true?
hey there. i was doing a walk around my garden today and saw my vines growing from the ground that produce purple flowers are covered in aphids… its been cold here so im not sure how they got here so fast, just last week they were clear. when my broccoli got covered in them last year i tried the soap and water spray with some Dr. Broners natural soap, it killed the bugs but burnt and killed my plant completely so im worried to do that again, especially to my vine that cover my rocks… any tips?
there were a couple lady bugs but i dont want the aphids to take over before they have a chance to eat them, should i go buy some lady bugs, not sure how to tackle this, dont want them transferring anywhere else…

Hey!! I love your channel! My son and I have been watching all winter and can't wait to start our garden soon! We've been growing in repurposed shipping containers but get to grow in the ground for the first time! We are planning to build 4 raised beds!! When you are starting a brand new raised bed and want to do the core gardening do you dig down into the native soil to put it in or just put it on top then cover with the compost?
I know this may seem redundant, but do you think it might be possible to show us HOW you install your tomato stakes? You have told us many times that you love the method and how you tie up the plants, but is there a trick to inserting the stakes to get them deep enough and not topple over? Do you dig a hole for the stake? Do you just shove them in? Is there a certain amount of space away from the plant you put them? Thank you so much in advance 🙂
forgot to cover at the end of the season last year, beds are completely covered in weeds and ant hills. : (
