Man that lettuce looks good, I wanna eat some!
Consistently impressed Curtis.
Curtis, Is the event in West Memphis on Dec 6th happening for certain? Thanks
You really are an inspiration. I'm on Mid-Van Isle and I am just launching my micro greens production – you can pretty much grow anything here year round – theres even a guy growing wasabi. I'm looking to provide fast growing crops to restaurants (particularly asian) I was just going to go and ask what they need to import to see if I could do it cheaper locally and was wondering if you've ever taken this approach. PS – I sprouted methi micro-greens and need a chef that can handle them!!!
Awesome looking crops! It's gotta make you smile (just a bit) when you open the door and see all that green doing so well.
do you have a backup generator in case the grid goes down?
2 quick questions:
1. While in NZ are you coming over to Aus?
2. Is the heater running on a thermostat or do you just manually switch it on/off?
You are getting very close to becoming a industrial farmer, nothing wrong with that. I enjoy watching the transformation.
Curtis, are you adding the tatsoi and rr kale to your salad mix or selling it separately? Thanks, brother!
Another great video. Fungus on the soil under the landscape fabric, interesting. I know we had stuff that looked a little like fungus under our landscape fabric but it was salt build up as is common in greenhouses. Had to flush it out.
Curtis, can you do a video on healthy vs unhealthy crops? Maybe use a few different crops as examples to explain what signs to look for if a crop is unhealthy and offer solutions to remedy some common issues?
how do you think the income from your production verse against the cost of the power used? also I notice the tunnel not vented. you guys get hot summers. will you still rely on the fans to circulate and cool? Cheers
I didn't see link for the planter
NICE!
Do you have underground heating in any of your green houses? Ever consider pumped water through compost piles to heat and then direct the water through pipes a foot or so under the green house?
Curtis, what's the advantage of growing different lettuces and greens to make your own salad mix compared to buying seeds that are already mixed, like Mesclun Mix or Gourmet Lettuce Blend (for example) ?! Thank you!
Curtis, Awesome vid…you've been a big inspiration, and I've taken action on a lot of the stuff you've taught!
I know Eliot Coleman, does winter greens in an unheated greenhouse without damaging the greens.
Have you found that you will get better yields and recovery times with the partially heated greenhouse?
Thanks a ton!
I've learned more from this channel than I have from most of my university classes.
Many thanks for making these videos!
Hey Curtis, just out of curiosity why don't you use propane heaters? I'm sure with the electric available at the house its readily available but I'd imagine it could be more cost affective in the long run.
would a more cost effective solution to the temperature thing possibly be to put another layer of plastic hoophouses over each bed inside the greenhouse to make a double greenhouse effect? i saw it in another video on winter growing have u tried this?
What is the heater unit you are using? Are you happy with its performance so far? Thank you for the useful information – book and videos!
If I order the large 500’ insect netting from Johnny’s.can I cut it to bed length(30×50) thanks Curtis 🙂
Curtice, I've got a 72 x 18 greenhouse and I am looking for ideal fan size and placement. Can you do a vid on fan and exhaust systems in your greenhouse?
