It's unbelievable how many bug people in suburbia and cities willfully do not stock up food, learn how to start a fire, fire a gun, or do anything that violates their sense of normalcy in order to prep. Many of them are so afraid of being seen as a "prepper" that they refuse to take the basic steps to make their lives easier if SHTF. Peer pressure is a pain.
Like Patara does, we each need to be our own Sarah Connor to make it through this.
I honestly thought I kept on top of things in the home. I recently found a previously well stocked first aid kit had run low due to one reason and another and I hadn’t kept my eye on the ball. I stocked it up pretty quickly. It was a great lesson for me to keep a checklist handy for all things, not just food.

Dont know why I clicked on this but glad I did. I was at work today thinking I should cut some people out of my life, some being family. My family calls me for money and it's been going on for 30 years but I have not asked them for anything. I dont think they would call if i was broke.

I'm so glad that I was able to have a decent size outside garden this year to supplement my food stores and I have enough space inside to have a micro garden inside to have fresh greens during the winter.

You are absolutely right. And in the Civil War you can read the diaries of the difficulties of women on their own, and plowing their own fields, etc. At least they had fields to plow and a know how on ways to live off the land. Now days, we are ALL clueless and yes, going to be in big trouble.
It might be helpful to look up the phenomenon of MASS FORMATION. It is the precursor of Totalitarianism. It is important to continue to dissent because only that can break the spell of collective hypnosis of a population. And we can and will help each other to get past this difficult time. (Don't confuse communism with totalitarianism its not the same and can arise no matter what political ideology prevails.)
I've realized lately that I need to learn skills and acquire reference books in case I find myself in a situation where I can't just google how to do things.
