Oregon here
I live in zone 7 is it too late to start a fall garden
Oh yes how do I get rid of them?
I dont have issues with fruit flies but I have tons of fungus gnats in my houseplants. The solution is mosquito dunks (BT). I put one in my watering can and it works great.
What is the best way to learn about soil health?
This has been one of my favorite episodes !!! You mentioned about canning tomatoes …Can you water bath Tomatoes ?
Mulch should be thinner in spring..
So excited you had Luke. I watch him all the time and I bought like 60 or 70 seeds from him
Luke just needs to catch up with that Tomato… I had 12 zucchini in a bed then one tucked between marigolds and zinnias because it was left over. Lost the 12 but the lone one is still producing strong.
Yes, black garlic is crazy delicious.
I routinely ferment garlic in honey + apple cider vinegar; it's highly medicinal. I've also fermented garlic in only apple cider vinegar to give (in small doses) in my chicken's water.
Interesting talking about straw decomposing. When I worked at a horse rescue the owner said straw never decompose. It WILL get moldy with being wet; I wonder if that was the issue?
I've had TWO fruit fly infestations this year; THEY have been bad. Aphids and squash bugs have been worse than any other year also. I think it has to do with all the pollution (chem trails).
Luke, you recently moved. Are you still living in Michigan? I grew up in Lansing.
To make honey-infused garlic you ferment it in honey. You can also add other ingredients like onions, ginger, and sumac. It's ready when the honey is a watery consistency. You can eat both what you fermented in it and the honey. Usually whatever you ferment in it tastes milder than the raw version.
Starting Onion Seeds in Fall is recommended here in WA if you want large onions next year… especially Sweet Walla Walla onions. I am going to try it this year.
Linda, in New Hampshire – You have to come back to the East Coast! NH & Maine are a must! Beautiful part of the country.
Hello all! I went back to classroom teaching so I miss out on the morning shows. Hope you all are well as I watch the replays. – Bekah
We "de-thaw" here in Wisconsin
Some of my plants didn't do good at all this year and when I pulled the plants I found I had rootknot nematodes. Do you have any suggestions?
We've had a lot of fruit flies in the Romeo, Michigan area this year too.
<3 Roots Shoots & Coffee.
Fruit flies have been awful this year in Texas!
It is your show and you hold it down. Keep it up i need many years of this please. Im learning so much.
I am in Mass (6B). Never thought about growing potatoes over the winter before. Is it advisable for my zone (if heavily mulched, etc. of course)?
Yes! Fruit flies have been horrible!
That was cute…being a guest on your own channel lol. Why doesn’t she have her own channel?
No fruit flies
Lots of mold and mildew this year
The potato idea from Ireland does work. My uncle has passed and gone for about 12 years now and he was 73 when he passed. But as long as I've known him and I'm 53, he's playing potatoes that way and we lived in Belle Rose Louisiana
