It’s been a few months since my last dragon fruit (pitahaya) growing video, and a lot of new growth is here! In fact, I actually let it go too long without training and tying the stems to a central pole. So in this video, you’re going to see if I can save my dragon fruit plant by doing some epic tying up.
I’m also going to take some dragon fruit cuttings and give them away to the first two people to pre-order my new book coming out May 7th, Field Guide to Urban Gardening.

I would tie the cloth in a bow to start. Once you get the entire plant pulled up, go back to the bottom and tie them off with a single piece of cloth.
I want that I'm really excited about growing dragon fruits bro
I am still learning about dragon fruit and mine after 3 years still has not flowered and seems to have a mind of its own as far as growth patterns…very unruly!. I did get one tip though…they seem to like a T bar shape for support. One of mine (which grew from the base of the supported fruit) also grew up the brick wall without ties. I'm looking forward to your results. Thanks for all your tips.
How often did you water them from the first video and did you add any pesticides or extra fertiliser?
For the cuttings, do you think you would get more roots if you trimmed the bottom tip so essentially the base is wider, and thus, more area for more roots to come out?
I love you
Best to train upward after 4 pm. 😉
What is to the left of it??
Sir can you create a playlist from small to fruiting plant dragon fruit with tips of blooming etc thx
I didn’t know they were that easy to pull up, I may have to try that and trim some of it off and share with a friend or two
so I bought my first dragon plant a few weeks back kept in pot and babied it it now has all these cat like wiskers sprouting all over one leaf i dont see anything like that on any of ur videos so was wonder what it is look like roots but there at top of plant mystery thanks
What’s the plant next to it?
I can't understand soil mixer.pl. writedown the ratio of soil, compost, sand, etc.

I watched many your video! I live in Arizona 85501. So my dragon fruits have to cover it when the weather drop to below 40F . Please let me know who to cover with? Thanks
Around 10:20, you mention "the first two IN AMERICA … " … Don't get yourself in a pickle. Remember this entire continent is America. North, central & South America. VERY EXCELLENT VIDEO. Thank you.
It's great
Thank you so much for sharing
I love this guy
More than a foot in 4 months
I have success with tomato cages for support. It means less tying up. You can check my pics on FB or IG mickkilburn
Lol perfect video as I have also neglected mine in the exact same way
awful!
How soon do you recommend tying the dragon fruit? I have a cutting that new growth is growing. I don't want to wait if i need to do it now. Thanks. I just started to watch your videos.
A Dragon Mummy . . . LOL
Your explanation may be clear ONLY to you. Not to others. Ok.
So my local grocery store decided to start selling dragon fruit by the pound. I love them so much but I can't keep paying $6.99/lb.
What was that cactus in the pot on the left? Epiphyllum?
My dragon fruit plant is very spiky and I don't see any like mine so far in youtube, is this so because it is still young?
